Sturdy material, seam sealed works great

I originally purchased this as a dry bag to strap to the inside of my friends boat to keep my belongings dry and strapped down.

It has worked perfect and held up well to do that.

The material is VERY strong, the seams are pretaped and sealed and the interior is white so you can easily find your things inside it. I'm very happy with my purchase.

The only thing I wish I did different was to choose another color. The black and blue colors in the sun heat up pretty hot. This is not a fault with the product it's my use of it.

I've switched to a white cheap plastic one I purchased locally to address my use case being in the sun.

I have repurposed this to use when I go camping to keep some of my belongings dry in my backpack. For that it's been awesome as well.

My wife liked it too so I purchased her one as well.

Lighter and thinner than a Baja but does the job

I've used the Baja version for over 13 years. Despite tougher and heavier material, the Baja was only fully waterproof for about 7 years before it started leaking. It developed small pinholes at the base, that got more numerous with age. Then the holes began on the sides. Its still tough to use as a bag, but not a dry bag.

An easy way to test these bags is fill an empty bag with air, roll it down and push to expand the air, it should be air tight if waterproof, and at most will leak from the top folds. When leaks are elsewhere, it will hiss like a tire. For smaller leaks, you can push the air filled bag into a tub of water, and check for bubbles.

If this bag gets me 7 years I'll be happy. What killed the Baja was repeated folding, abrasion on rocky surfaces, and UV sunlight. Given how light and thin the material is, I'm skeptical about its toughness but its perfect for carrying because its lighter, and when backpacking, every ounce, counts.

Used as directed, its kept all my gear dry inside on several trips. I always test for waterproofness on each trip, that way you won't find out by seeing your gear all wet. I put these bags inside a mesh Stahlsac, which takes the brunt of being tossed around and abraded. The only way I can see this bag failing if it a hole develops on the trip, because its not as rugged as the Baja.

I brought this on a week long trip to Hawaii and used it extensively during hiking and snorkeling activities. I would say I pushed its capability to its limits, but it performed admirably and the versitility was nothing short of awesome.

-= Performance =-
First off, its not waterproof. But I would say its definity weatherproof from my experience. During the times I went snorkeling in Maui I was concerned to leave my electronic car keys unattended at the beach. So I thought I'd give this dry-bag a run for its money, stuffed my keys and other stuff inside it, closed it as tightly as I could, and went swimming/snorkeling for hours at a time with the bag strapped to my swim shorts. The bag was seemingly airtight (not 100% true) so it had bouyancy. But literally it was half submerged most of the time, with the opening-side faced down. Verdict? Well, a little water did leak inside due to water pressure but only enough to make the inner walls wet and my dry shirt damp. Not the absolute performance I was hoping for, but really, its still impressive considering what it went through.

I also took this dry-bag to hiking trips that required passing through streams and ending at a waterfall. Sometimes it rained hard without notice, but most of the time it was just plain humid. Well, the dry bag held up perfectly, and nothing was wet inside... not a single hint of moisture. It worked beautifully as originally intended.

-= Versatility =-
I have the 20L size, which I would probably recommend for outdoor excursions. Volume-wise, It can easily fit the contents of a school backpack. To be specific, its about 5 gallons worth of space. The bag is cylindrical in shape, like a small punching bag and is made of polyurethane coated nylon (coated in the inside...black nylon on the outside). Very flexible material for being waterproof. Seems durable to me, but only time will tell if the coating holds up over time. It was definitely enough space for me. As a recommendation if you are on the fence between sizes, I would lean towards the bigger size just because of the nature of a roll-down closure. You can keep rolling the top of the bag to any size you want, but you can't enlarge a small bag. Plus, the more you roll the top, the more tighter the closure (theoretically speaking). The buckle that keeps the closure from unraveling is secure and provides a little plastic loop to hook things onto. On the bottom of the bag is a flat handle that can be used to hand-carry the bag. I've put lots of odd things in the bag and used it for plenty of reasons well worth the cost. Keeping things dry is obvious, keeping flies and animals from smelling my food not so much, and keeping my fiance's floral lei's from being crushed in this mostly airtight dry-bag is probably the most oddest use.

Nonetheless, this bag is one investment that I highly recommend. Its a good performer with lots of versatility.

SealLine products are great any where and any time I'm around water. I kayak and canoe in the BWCA and like to keep my gear and additional clothing dry and safe. The nylon coated slippery sea bags load up very easily in my kayak and color coding my dry bags keeps my inventory much easier to find what I'm looking for. Don't get me wrong but I love the heavier vinyl cover bags as well for open cockpit storage or canoeing. The vinyl bags are harder to store and remove from the fore and aft compartment in my kayak. Which ever bag you get remember to burp them either before or after you seal them to take up less room.

I used this for my food/bear bag for 2 weeks on the AT. I saw quite a few thru hikers using the same bag. There were some hikers using bags that were lighter, and my 2 weeks were just before the halfway point... many of those lighter weight bags had holes in them (granted this is after 800 miles of use/abuse). This bag seemed to hold up better than the ultra light bags. It worked very well for me. At one point it held 7 days of food with room to spare. It has a ring to easily attach a carabiner for hanging as a bear bag, and kept all of my food nice and dry through a few storms.
When I got home it cleaned up nicely... I just threw it in the wash! Came out clean and unharmed.

Best dry bag ever!

best bag Ive used. rather than the bulky dry sacks Ive used for kayaking, this one is very light weight and folds down to almost pocket size.. Rather than thick rubber its made of vinyl fabric with an inside coating that is waterproof and flexible.
Great for emergency rain protection for hiking, & motorcycle trips. I also used it as a nice dry place for wallet,phone etc while hiking/outdoor shows, etc, as you can roll in down to purse size for those little "need to stay dry"items in questionable weather. will be getting more in other sizes very soon.
