Great book, especially for beginners like me. It is written in a conversational format that flows easily. I'm not much of a reader and I found this book to be engaging and an easy page-turner. Technical jargon was explained well and there were a TON of resources listed throughout the book to delve deeper into topics of interest or tools of your choice. To me this book opened my eyes to the world of Google's search engine and I learned many things about it that I never knew before or had any idea even existed. But if you're an SEO pro, chances are you already know most of what's in the book. Don't let that discourage you if you dabble though. I thought this book was pretty up to date on info and in the very least one could learn what's coming around the bend, as well as new types of technology. For me, I feel as though I gained a valuable, all encompassing picture of SEO and it will help me to create a strategy to move forward with ranking goals.

This is a solid resource on SEO optimization!!. I have a basic understanding of SEO already but it's ssoooo difficult to find a resource that puts everything together all in one place. I feel like this book covers the inner game of SEO so I have a much better understanding of the fundamental information. I also learned the practical steps so I can start improving my rankings it's truly a great book on this topic!!

I did a lot of research before finally settling on this book. It's thoroughly researched and well put together. The author makes complicated concepts easy to understand. He also touches on advanced tactics so experienced readers will walk away with at least a handful of new tactics. The author does this while making it fun, it feels like you have a good friend explaining the whole process.
This is a powerful resource not just on SEO but for growing a business. It covers all the essential information on SEO, also covers local marketing and even pay-per-click campaigns. Some areas are covered, but looks like this was on purpose, everything is easy to understand and it doesn't make you fall asleep like reading an encyclopedia.
My only complaint, I would have liked more information in the section about analytics. It covers general information on this, I would have liked more detail on knowing where to pay attention after improving my rankings and traffic.
I've seen lots of businesses do well with SEO and I've seen lots of businesses struggle because they don't understand SEO and neither does their SEO guy, so I think it's important to get the right knowledge. Anyone with this guide on their desk will inevitably find it an essential resource they will refer to on a weekly or maybe even daily basis. Highly recommend this book to anyone that wants the best all-round-guide on SEO and grow their business.

Search engine optimization is demystified and finally made simple and easy to understand in this book. It has a lot of information from core essentials to advanced strategies. It does get technical in some areas, but the author balances this out with his conversational style. It covers the latest RankBrain, Mobile and Penguin updates and I couldn't find this information in other books, so I give the author bonus points for covering this new information.

If there's one feature that sets this book apart from the others it is the level of detail.
It is truly detailed in covering all of the areas you need to understand to practice search engine optimization and rank at the top of the search results.
The author has tackled quite difficult topics and boiled them down to the essentials, and presents the information in a casual and conversational style so anybody can understand it.
It is a very good book to own if you run a business or are trying to set up a blog.
I could see it has been recently updated and it has a lot of new information that isn't covered in some other books, such as the 2016 algorithm updates and key changes to how you need to approach link building. This was why I purchased this book in the first place.
The bonus chapters on pay per click advertising and analytics are a nice touch, and are the icing on the cake as you truly have everything you need to get started marketing your business in the search engines.
Don't let this book get into the hands of your competitors. Buy this book and grow your business to the next level.

I wanted to quickly learn SEO basics and I got exactly what I wanted. There's no fluff, everything is clearly and concisely explained and I got through 40% of the book in one morning. I got a subscription at moz and I created my first blog post which Rainmaker defined as "SEO ok" instead of "SEO poor" as my other pages.

I didnt know anything about SEO. Not a website person at all but I know that I need an online presence for my business and this book was great. Gave me a basic understanding about SEO. Makes sense to me now and I am plugging in what I learned to my websites to increase my rankings organically. Definately recommend especially kf you dont know much about SEO like myself. This book also includes a lot of info regarding Googles recent updates.

I feel like it is intended for readers who want to know the exact steps they have to do to rank their business at the top of Google. Many books just cover the WHY do SEO and don't go beyond telling you to make your site easy-to-use, but this book covers the HOW. I already know I need to be doing SEO and this is the practical information I wanted.
It doesn't really go too deep into lengthy stories or motivational stuff, it's more clear and to the point and exact steps walking you through how to use search engine optimization.
It's really an a-to-z reference guide written in a conversational manner for a business person or marketer.
It covers the central concepts of how Google ranks sites, then walks you through finding keywords and optimizing your site.
I would have liked some more information on the social media section. But I liked the bonus chapter on Adwords.
All-in-all, it's a good, new, relevant how-to-guide I can use today. I have my copy sitting on my desk and refer to it regularly.

Why did I choose this book? Because there was a ton of positive reviews and I'm in the process of mastering local SEO and local business lead generation online.
What was my experience? There was a lot covered. I wish there were more specifics and how to do SEO. I wish this was a more practical guide. It's a lot like a report on SEO, the history, speculation on future Google updates, Etc. It could be much more applicable for optimizing a site, though it did a good job providing most of those details.
Would I recommend it to others? Absolutely. It's a broad overview of SEO and it goes deep enough to help you implement all the things that you need to implement to optimize your site. It should get you most of the way to optimizing your site for the search engines.
