The typeface and formatting are minimal, so at first glance it looked like one of those cheap books written quickly by a blogger to try to pump his or her site...you know, the ones that are all keywords and no content.

But I was pleasantly surprised to find a lot of useful information in here. I never once felt like I was being directed to the author's site so that I could buy something. In fact, I don't even know what site the author runs. There were lots of useful links to websites that can help you diagnose issues with your website and research keywords and competition. The bonus chapter on PPC marketing was a good read as well.

It was a quick read- about 2 hours- but going back through and implementing all of the things discussed will be a long process. Definitely not a canonical reference for someone looking to become an expert, but an awesome, succinct primer on SEO.

Skimmed through this book at the book store and it is missing a ton of the basics that you HAVE to now have to rank well in Google.
For example, on the chapter "How to let Google know what your page is about.”, there is NOTHING on the <meta name="robots" CONTENT="NOODP"> meta tag. Any web site developer dealing with Google in 2015 uses NOODP, or they could end up with their pages listed 20 pages down without their EXACT written descriptions. Your competition may look at your pages and not see NOODP on your pages. They than could go to DMOZ or any ODP and put a horrid description in for your pages that could kill your rankings.

This book looks like it was written for website owners for 2011-12, not 2015. NOTHING new in it and a ton of stuff is missing.

Also, there is no back index. That is not a problem with a digital edition, but a huge problem with a paper book.
