Now Ella and Connor are more than prof and student. They're neighbors, good neighbors, who take care of one another and of Ella's son. Suddenly they are more than that as their feelings deepen. Connor is on the run when Ella confesses her love for him. He doesn't recognize that he not only loves Ella and her son, but that he's loved as well. Connor struggles through his class and his feelings.
This is a poignant tale of three people who grapple with the baggage of their pasts. It will touch your heart because it's real.
The first thing that comes into my mind when I think of this book is the essays and the books Connor is forced to go through in order to get the degree he wanted. I added a couple of books on my to read list after that and I realized that I want a man like Connor. Not the side of Connor with the 3 B thing. The one who wrote that essay in the end and is secretly like me.
Ella and her son were an adorable duo and great as individuals. How the author managed to place in 130 pages the things she did is something that is beyond me. Because we don't get to see only Connor developing a bond with Ella, but we also see Connor developing a bond with her son.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this novella and I am recommending it not only to the fans of the series, but also people who are looking for some short and sweet book to read.
We are first introduced to Connor in Searching for Perfect, he is Nate's older brother.

Ella is no nonsense college professor of literature.
Connor and Ella learn to understand and delve in to reveal the the true story.
Scratching the surface, judging a book by its cover doesn't lead to any revelations of truths.
Simply put - LOVE this story
Connor Dunkle is back in college at age 38. When he was younger, he had to take several jobs and he was the one who put Nate through school when his mother left them and his father went into a drunken stupor. Currently, Connor is almost done with his last semester. He needs to pass just one class to be able to graduate. If he doesn't graduate, he won't get the promotion he so desperately wants.
Ella Blake is the professor of Composition 102. She wants her students to think and to stop living in cliches. One look at Connor and she thinks she knows what he's all about. Conceited, handsome and having women falling over him all the time. Just as she had made up her mind about him, she discovers he is much more than that.
I like how these two characters didn't like each other at the beginning and how they developed a friendship first. Yes, they disagree in some of their views about women but the best relationships have to have some challenges, right? I love how Connor had a great relationship with Ella's son and I agree with Nate. I think he's going to be a great dad someday.
Searching for mine was enjoyable, fast-paced and left me with a big smile on my face.
To sweeten the deal, Nate and Kennedy had a couple of cameos in it.
