- "I can't believe this is Julie Richman's first book. Everything about this story and the characters is so authentic. I had some emotional whiplash while I was reading SFM. Schooner and Mia's relationship was heartbreaking at times. One press of a button changed everything. I need more Moore and can't wait for book two."  - KindleCrack Book Reviews
- "Julie Richman brought me a wonderful love story. Love is not always easy and life is not always fair. You don't always get what you want and sometimes you just have to learn to deal with that the best you can. The connection between Mia and Schooner is so beautiful and so strong that you can't help but root them on the entire story. I am so glad that I read Searching for Moore and I can't wait for more. I will tell you that I loved every bit of this story and I know you will too. It will be "smoochal"!" - Swoonworthy Book Blog
- "I couldn't read this book fast enough. I was turning the pages on my kindle so fast I thought I was going to break the screen." -Coffee and a Good Book

This book was amazing. The story line is so heart felt. I just really gobbled this read up. The characters of Schooner & Mia are captivating and very authentic. Even the "filler" characters are really well done. I can't say enough about a story line were two people fall in love, have heartache and are reunited 24 years later. I really hope this is based on a true story. I think this book should be made into a film for Lifetime.,....however talk about a cliffhanger....grrrrr......I will be the first one to download book 2 when it's out!!!! This is the PERFECT SUMMER READ!!!

"Oh baby have no idea of what you do to me."
"It's smoochal..."

This story has an interesting true to life premise and was different and intriguing. It is a love story that spans twenty four years and opposite ends of the country. Schooner and Mia were college first loves and it was all ruined by a jealous girl with an agenda. Consequences and miscommunication cost them twenty four years until one night a forty-three old Schooner makes a Facebook friend request that gives them a second chance and alters their lives.

Mia and Schooner were so good together. I loved them at sixteen and nineteen years old, and also at forty and forty-three years old. She brings out the best in him and let him be himself. He is loving, protective, and completely swoon-worthy. He is used to being seen as a pretty face and star tennis player and kept a mask on for the world, but Mia saw right to his heart. He always saw Mia as a hidden gem: intelligent, unique, sassy, strong, funny, and secure in her own identity.

Their young love story was so special and heartwarming. They did not seem like a couple that belonged together, but they truly worked. Their relationship during their college years had a few starts and stops, but all along they truly cared deeply and passionately for one another. They were intense, completely enthralled with one another, and truly soul mates.

(Quote)Your first and your last, Baby Girl, Schooner vowed to himself. Your first and your last.

But communication during important times unfortunately was their downfall. And trust, insecurities, and meddling ripped them apart and changed the course of their lives.

I bought an anthology called Tempting Fate and this book was part of it. I am reviewing it individually.

I hate to give bad reviews but this book drove me absolutely crazy! The characters were so infuriating.

Schooner-Worst.Name.Ever, but whatever. This guy was vapid and had absolutely no control over his own life. His good looks made life easy but also had him treating his prom queen girlfriend/wife like she was a street hooker with no individual worth besides pleasing him. He certainly didn't treat her well or with any respect whatsoever. I hated his attitude that he was better than her. He knew what she was like when he married her and that didn't stop him. He took the easy road in almost every situation and never took personal responsibility for his actions. He never broke up with CJ while he was dating Mia. Instead he let her railroad him over and over and never once did the right thing by cutting her loose (presumably because she gave good BJs). She could have had a life with someone else who gave a damn about her if he would have been firm with her the first time. But no, he took the easy path and they both ended up miserable. Then, when Mia disappears, does he try to look for her? No. He says that because her last name is Silver and she lives in NY, there would be no way to track her down. He could have at least put a little effort into it! He knew the parents' names, had some personal clues about her and where she might be located roughly, but that would have been too much work for this poor guy. The author tries to redeem him by showing us his accomplishments and how domineering he can be in bed (he is alpha in the bedroom almost to a skeevy degree), but it all pales after realizing this guy has absolutely NO backbone whatsoever.

I am floored that this is Ms. Richman's first novel. It is not a short book and I tore through it in 24 hours. The author brought a level of emotional depth and character development that is rare in this genre. She writes very well and has a bright future ahead of her. Authors in this genre with far, far less ability are getting snapped up by publishers left and right due to independent e-book publishing. Publishers should be queuing up to sign her.

That cliffhanger was a killer. Normally cliffhangers vex me, but I can forgive it because it was a novel of substantial length at a bargain price. The cliffhanger is clearly not a ploy to fleece her readers (I'm looking at you HM Ward). I am looking forward to the next installment and other future works by this author.

I downloaded this book for free awhile ago, but held off on reading it because I am not a fan of cliffhanger endings. However, I kept seeing rave reviews for this series pop up in several book blogs that I follow, so I decided to give it a shot. The premise sounded interesting, and since I am in my late 30's and have been out of high school and college for awhile now, I can relate to wondering whatever happened to people from my past.

The start was strong. I liked the flashback portion of the book. I really enjoyed watching Schooner and Mia develop a friendship, which eventually led to them falling in love. I raised my eyebrows a little at his lack of backbone when it came to breaking up with CJ, and I really raised them a lot when Mia decided that the best way to get past her brutal gang rape was to have sex with Schooner the next day, but whatever....I was still really into the story at that point and willing to overlook those instances, and kept turning page after page wondering what was going to cause them to split up and eagerly awaiting their reunion in the future.

When the story finally moved into present day, the events that unfolded were just plain ridiculous. Okay, Schooner was unhappy in his marriage...but he was married to the same woman for more than TWENTY YEARS, and had two children with her! After a five minute phone call with his college ex-girlfriend, he abruptly files for divorce and books a flight to NY (which I found it really hard to believe he had never been to NYC before given that he had a modeling career for many years and is now a wealthy businessman, but that's a whole other subject).
