When Sara arrived in America, Mr. Lake new she was an ophan and was waiting for her. He took her in to care for her, he found out she had a
talent for art, he being a famous artist took her under his wing as a mentor.
The author has written a wonderful story. The characters were well defined and pleasing to the reader. Sara Little was shy but depended on
God in everyway. The plot was warm and wonderful the author described the time period perfectly. Thank you Nona Mae King for a wonderful book we could relax with, a very enjoyable read.
When Sara arrived in South Carolina she found Mr Christopher and his daughter waiting for her. The Lake family knew she was an ophan and promised to care for her. Mr Lake was an artist and owned an art gallery. He found her talent was drawing in charcoal and took her under his
wing to mentor her. Sara was a shy, sweet girl, a special person, always trusting in God.
The author has written an outstanding story. The characters were well developed and pleasing to the readers. Sara Little was an inspiring character, she was shy but was depending on God in every way. The plot was warm and wonderful, the author described the time period with clothes, horses and buggies, a beautiful house with a butler, maids, and cooks that Sara could certainly relate to the life style.
I enjoyed the book, Thank you Nona mae King for a wonderful book that we could relax with, I recomend this book to everyone.
I did finish it, but won't be reading the rest of the series.
