From Booklist

Kate Seymour has a special sense for when two people are meant for each other, and she’s put it to use running a successful matchmaking business, Kinnections, with her two best friends in an idyllic New York town. Despite her knack for setting others up, Kate has yet to meet her soul mate. Enter Slade, an embittered divorce lawyer, who signs up for Kinnections to keep tabs on his sister, who’s looking for love after a devastating breakup. The spark between Kate and Slade is jolting, but she’s the exact opposite of his type: classically pretty, virginal, and a believer in true love. When denying their attraction causes her to lose her talent for matching others and him to lose his legal edge, they give in to passion. Probst writes the popular Marriage to a Billionaire series (The Marriage Merger, 2013), and her latest contemporary romance, though somewhat hampered by clunky exposition, offers both heat and heart. --Aleksandra Walker

This is a story about love, but just like in her other series (Marriage to a Billionaire), I appreciate how she tells the readers how important a family's love is... there were parts in this book that really tug at your heart.

(The Bibliomaniacs and their Playlist)

Witty dialogue and passionate characters… a sophisticated, sexy romance with an intelligent business savvy heroine at its center and a super hot love interest (RT Book Reviews)

A refreshing, lighthearted read with adorable characters and a fantastic classic love story. (Miss Construed's Reviews)

A delightfully romantic and fun read… Ms. Probst is one of the best contemporary romance authors I know! (Angela Carr, Under the Covers blog)

Probst nails it, pun intended and acknowledged, with this sassy and sexy tale. I never wanted this story to end! Jennifer Probst has a knack for writing characters I truly care about --I want these people as my friends! (USA Bestselling Author Alice Clayton)

Kate Seymour is epitome of a romantic comedy heroine, she’s beautiful, confident, headstrong tries to ignore her heart, cares more about others than herself, and she’s classy but sassy.

"My name is Kate,"
"It suited her. Strong, classy and full of punch. Simplicity on the outside and complexity on the inside."~Slade

Her romantic life has been put on hold after countless failed dates. She has pretty much given up searching for a match for herself. Rather, Kate with the help of her two college friends, Kennedy and Arilyn, they organize and run a matchmaking company—Kinnections. Kate dedicates herself to helping others find their match. With an ability passed along down her family line, Kate has a gift or “the touch” that evokes a sense of an electrical spark that indicates when two people are meant to be together. (While this may come off a tad farfetched, the way Ms. Probst intertwines this gift throughout the story line, it is so adorably romantic you too wish you could feel this connection when you met “the one”). Although she has stopped trying to find her mate, Kate is still one helluva of a love optimistic, she believes there is one person out there that she is meant to spend forever with.

Enter in Slade Montgomery, devastatingly handsome divorce attorney whose profession has made him skeptical and cold toward love.

"He didn't just walk he prowled. His tawny locks were a mess of thick messy waves her fingers itched to touch, and those jungle-green eyes pinned a woman to the wall and did bad things to her."~Kate

Where Kate is all fairytales and happy endings, Slade believes in the statistics of relationships which shows half end; he isn’t convinced to take that risk.

I really enjoyed the first part of this book. There were some really funny laugh out loud moments. My favorite was the scene where Kate's friend was able to bring 3 strong men down to their knees with the power of Yoga! I love a bit of romantic humor. But, this tone did not last throughout the entire book and for me it got a little boring somewhere around the point when Kate and Slade finally decided to go out together. I wasn't feeling their connection.

I think that this book will strongly appeal to those ladies out there who are:

a) dog lovers (I actually loved the dog more than the dude)
b) fans of the bossy, slightly aggressive, alpha male business man
c) love having references to modern day television shows and movies included in their books (I don't watch modern sitcoms so this doesn't appeal to me)
d) don't mind waiting until about the last 25% of the book for the couple to finally hook up (I don't mind this but when they finally hooked up it was odd)

I am not a fan of the bossy alpha male and I completely lost interest in Slade when he asked Kate to call him counselor while they were having sex. Sorry ladies... I am more of a "Krull the Warrior King" kind of gal... or maybe something like... "Take me God of Thunder... Take me!" I would probably die of boredom if my man wanted me to call him counselor. It seemed a bit emasculating... I don't know... it just put me off.
There were some really interesting supporting characters... I quite liked Kate's hippy mom who is a sex therapist. I would've liked to have spent more time with her... she was a hoot.
A three rating means that I thought it was just Ok... and that is exactly how it made me feel. But, I can definitely see others liking this more than I did.

I've had a book crush on Probst since getting addicted to her Marriage series. I was pleasantly surprised to see the little book of spells resurface for some new victims, er…possibilities. Whether you've read the previous series or not, Probst will hook you in and keep you wanting more. A genuine mix of humor and heart are in store with every book. The storyline for this one was especially cute, mixing a jaded divorce attorney with a heart-strong matchmaker. Most impressive was the witty dialog and bantering. At times the conflict stretched a bit, but it did not deter me from reading. Recommended. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

BLURB: In charming Verily, New York, Kate Seymour has a smashing success with Kinnections, the matchmaking service she owns with her two best girlfriends. But Kate’s more than a savvy businesswoman: She’s gifted with a secret power, a jolting touch that signals when love’s magic is at work. It rocked her when she picked up a strange volume of love spells in the town’s used bookstore . . . and it zapped her again when she encountered Slade Montgomery, the hot-tempered—and hot-bodied— divorce lawyer who storms into Kinnections demanding proof that playing Cupid won’t destroy his vulnerable sister, Kate’s newest client. The only way to convince this cynic that she’s no fraud, and that love is no mirage, is for Kate to meet his audacious challenge: find him his dream woman. Can Kate keep their relationship strictly business when her electrifying attraction nearly knocked her off her feet? Or has the matchmaker finally met her match?
