It turns out that there are different frequencies used for Security+ remotes. My opener works at 315 MHz. This remote is 390 MHz. The problem is that the garage door companies apparently don't trust us with this most basic and relevant information. Instead we are left to guess based on the color of some stupid button and tidbits of conflicting information from different manufacturers.
Luckily they have the internet now, so before you order this remote, check to see what frequency remote you need and buy that one. Very frustrated with the waste of my time and no doubt money as I try to return this and buy another.
I have two garage doors and was able to program one button for each of the garage doors, and the third button to control both garage doors simultaneously. To program the remote to open both doors at once, I held down the button on the remote, and my husband and I pressed and released the red/orange programming button on each garage door opener at the same time, then I released the button on the transmitter.
After programming both of the new remotes, my existing remotes needed to be reprogrammed to work again. It was easy, now I have four working remotes.
Over all I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.
