The New Countess by Josi S. Kilpack
It can be difficult to write about the intimacies of marriage without getting too graphic but Ms Kilpack has pulled it off well keeping it clean and romantic. I appreciated the ability of this couple to communicate honestly with one another once they were able to put aside the formalities of the ton.
Mishaps and Memories by Martha Keyes
Judith Jardine discovered James unconscious with a bleeding head wound and other scrapes in a boat that had washed up on the beech. She recognized him as the very rude man who dubbed her as Miss ‘Sardine’. When he had no memory of who he was she couldn’t resist playing a trick on him. Until she felt guilty about her trickery. When James recovered his memory he felt guilty about the way he had treated her.
Moonlight Summer by Heather B. Moore
This couple met at the beach over a young child’s hat that decided to take a swim out to sea. Being the gentleman that he was, Oscar Rosewell went for a swim after it. The child’s older sister, Dorothea, was very impressed with Oscar but this couple had a struggle with connecting since Dorothea was to be betrothed to another. I loved the sincerity with which they each treated one another while upholding their personal integrity.
This is an anthology full of amazing, well written romances. Each story is unique and approaches love from a different viewpoint. These stories are clean reads and are very well edited.
I was given an advance copy of this book. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own. I highly recommend this anthology to historical romance lovers. I'm looking forward to reading the next anthology in this series.
THE NEW COUNTESS
by Josie S. Kilpack
Rating: 5 stars
I liked that this story presented the real struggles of marriage 100's of years ago. It must have been so hard to be married if you were not in love with your husband. This was a falling in love with your husband romance that I really enjoyed.

Sometimes first impressions are hard to forget and opportunities for revenge are hard to pass up. What will Judith do?
I found the fish fileting scene hilarious. I think my husband heard me laughing all the way across the house. This was a fun read.

A sweet romance about discovering and rectifying past wrongs.
