Summer's Road - Author Kelly Moran has given us an incredible story filled with so much emotion, your heart feels completely wrung out by the end. You'll go from laughing to crying and back again over and over as Summer and Ian's story plays out.
Summer has suffered a lot of loss in her life but the one thing she always had was the close knit group of friends she had. While Summer and Ian always had a special relationship neither was willing to cross the line fearful of losing the friendship they both treasure. Now though Ian has to do something or risk losing Summer to another man forever. The love Ian feels can't be held back. Now Summer is forced to make a decision. Settle for the strong stable relationship she has with Matt, her long time boyfriend, or risking it all on Ian.
This is a fantastic book and I think everyone will love it as much as I do.
Winter's Path - This is an amazing story. Matt and Jenny will grab your heart and they won't let go! Ms. Moran has written a beautiful story that takes us on the journey as these two deal with the baggage they both carry from their individual pasts and forge a future that could be wonderful together. Letting go of the past can be difficult though and the way these two handle the ups and downs of their newly formed relationship will take you on an emotional roller coaster. A ride you don't want to miss.
When Summer Quinn comes to face her mother in her life on again. She remembers all the hurt and pain that she dealt with her father's death. With her mother now back what will happen now. Now she has left, when will she be back. Is this still my home!
Finding Matt was the best and only thing she could think of. Hitting the road to find him as she knew that he would always know what to do.
Such an unbelievable story this book was. So sad and bitter memories brought up just hoping for a better future. These most wonderful friends are all such beautiful characters which all bring hope to their futures with this unbelievable story!!
* I recommend this book to everyone!!
Summer has always wondered what is wrong with her. Her mother abandoned her as small child. She was picked on all through school, despite having a small, tight knit group of amazing friends. Her father, who was her whole world, was taken too soon by cancer. She is a talented artist who uses her skills to teach others, including special needs children and those who have received terminal diagnoses, but all she gets in return is pain and sadness.
Ian is literally the boy next door and has been in love with Sunmer formal his life. Part of that small group of friends, Ian is the protector. He tries to shelter Summer from everything, even herself.
This year everything is about to change. Summer's mother returns and not everything is as it seems, one of her students becomes very ill, and someone threatens to take Summer out of Ian's reach forever. Sparks fly, humor abounds, and tears are definitely shed. Summer is about to figure I talk out and get what she's always wanted.
This book had absolutely all the feels. I am such a sucker for a friends to lovers story and this is s great. As someone who suffers from anxiety and depression I was able to relate to Summer on a really personal, emotional level. Ian was just the yummiest, sweetest guy and I rooted for him from the beginning. I loved every single second of this book.
Jenny Winter and Matt Holcomb have been best friends since they were teenagers. They met on the beach at Seasmoke while Jenny was trying to heal after a traumatic event. As soon as the others met her, they all took her under their wings, not realizing how much Jenny needed them at the time.
Jenny has harbored a secret (to everyone but Ian) crush on Matt for years. Her pub and her ailing father take a lot out of her and her friendship with Matt brings her peace. Matt is wallowing in grief over his last relationship (before his engagement to Summer) and is absolutely convinced he doesn't deserve to love or be loved in return.
When Matt makes the move to Seasmoke permanently, he and Jenny are in each other's pockets the majority of the time. Matt starts to recognize his feelings for Jenny and she starts putting two and two together. What follows in a heart-wrenching, emotional ride. This one will stick with you for a long time. There are appearances by the Seasmoke crew, which is fun. It can be read as a stand alone, but would be much more enjoyable after reading Summer's Road.
