From Publishers Weekly

Macomber ( Morning Comes Softly ) borrows heavily from It's a Wonderful Life while following three kooky angels on Christmastime missions to earth. Mercy's weakness for machinery has led to escapades with motor scooters and escalators; she is assigned to help Leah, a maternity nurse who has been unable to get pregnant, find her faith again. Goodness, who enjoys showing up on movie screens, must help Monica, a prissy minister's daughter, find love. And Shirley has to help Timmy, a little boy who has written to God asking for a father. Despite the contemporary setting, these tales have a dated feel. Monica falls in love with a cheesy private detective; her scant sexual experience with him convinces her they should get married. Timmy's mother dates a man to whom she is attracted mostly because he tutors her son in baseball. Leah is so obssessed with her desire for a child that she makes love to her husband at only the most propitious time for conception. Although the angels are amusing, the humans whose lives they mean to set right lack character; one ending is patently unbelievable, while the other two are predictable.

This is my favorite Debbie Macomber book, and definitely the best of the angel trio (Season of Angels, Touched by Angels, Trouble with Angels).
The book features a trio of angels (Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy) who have to answer the prayers of three people on earth. The only problem is, the angels enjoy getting into mischief and causing Gabriel many headaches!
The book is funny and romantic. It's a wonderful Christmas romance, and does not include the promiscuous sex found in most of the romances printed today. It fits well with Christian beliefs, and doesn't offend.
I highly recommend this book, if you can find a copy! It's very hard to find as no one wants to let theirs go, and it is out of print. But, if you're lucky enough to stumble upon one, GRAB IT!

I really enjoy reading Debbie Macomber's books. And I love the stories about the three prayer ambassadors. But this book was very annoying due to so many grammatical and typographical errors. ie: mourn for mouth, tour for your, etc. So it was annoying to have the sentence interrupted with all the errors and trying to figure out what the word was really meant to be. Maybe the proof reader or typist was having a bad day.... I haven't seen this problem with the 5 books I've read so far. Just not sure what the problem was with this one. But all in all I really like Debbie's easy style of writing.

I've read a lot of Debbie Macomber novels and loved them. I heard about the angel stories on facebook and looked them up. I'm so very glad I did. A Season of Angels takes and follows six people through an emotional Christmas season. If you want to be caught up and transported into three angels and their charges then read A Season of Angels.

The Angels everywhere series are truly inspiring. Debbie Macomber has written another fabulous series. I love the Angels, Shirley, Goodness and Mercy. They sometimes forget what they are supposed to be doing, when they get side tracked, but they're antics are priceless.

This is book 1 of the Shirley, Goodness and Mercy Angel series. The first book I read of this series was book #4 the 'air' of the two are different and at first wasn't really liking this one because it was so different than the other. But it did eventually grab my attention and I really liked it.

This is suppose to be a Christmas book, but in reading it you can often forget it's a Christmas book. Only from time to time do they have a reference to Nativity scene, a Christmas tree, etc. Not until you are nearly finished with the book does the "Christmas" come in. That I was a little disappointed in but it did come into itself at the end.

Also there are three separate stories going on so often times it was hard to keep characters straight and with what storyline they are in. In Book #4 all the stories came together at the end; and that's what I kind of expected; but that didn't happen in this book. None of the stories mix together.

This is a ROMANCE book (which kind of threw me off also since book 4 wasn't so much one) so most of the storyline is more romance than anything. I normally don't read that genre of book so with that said this is probably one of the first actual romance books I've read. It wasn't 'bad' at all, and am looking forward to reading all the rest of the books in this series.

Shirley, Goodness and Mercy are the prayer angels send to Earth to help humans fulfill their prayers. And although the story is 'their' story they aren't the main characters and they are only mentioned just enough to remind you they are there.

Neat 'real life' subject for the three stories you could very easily relate to one of the stories if you have ever was in their situation. So that was nice that it was written where people could relate

Took me awhile to get into the story. The author jumps around from one person to the other without any warning, such as " back to another person". After you have read some of her stories, you then get used to the way she writes. But I do like her stories very much, they keep my interest, and it is hard to put the book down till you finish it

This book was an excellent read. I was so engrossed, I couldn't put it down. You need to keep a box of tissues next to you when reading. The ending really had me crying. Debbie Macomber is an excellent author. Please keep writing and I will keep reading. Thank you!

This book had been recommended to me by my mother. I didn't know whether I would love the book or not, but as it worked out, I loved the book. It kept me to laughing at parts concerning mercy, goodness and Shirley.
