This versatile, high quality Anchor accommodates beach umbrellas, fishing rods and other camping - sporting equipment in the ground. The lower shaft provides a cross bar, which in conjunction with the auger - spiral flange, eases the insertion of the lower umbrella pole shaft into the sand that results in enhanced stability.

Then one day you buy this item and everything changes. This sucker is legit. You could set up an umbrella in a hurricane with this thing. It just takes a few minutes to twist into the ground and then you feel like you just stuck your umbrella into a concrete brick.
The screw blades at the tip work very nicely. They're not too close together/compact so it gets a nice grip in the sand. The handle is very sturdy and allows you to tightly screw it in the last few inches. There's a plastic screw to secure your umbrella at the top- other anchors have a metal screw that leaves marks on the umbrella. This one is especially nice since the screw is plastic and is much larger than the typical metal one.
I've used it in both sand and grass. I put all my weight on it when screwing it in, and it is incredibly stable when I'm done. I would say that installation is not super easy--you do have to put some weight on it or it will not "bite" into the ground.
The umbrellas don't fly away, even under pretty windy conditions, and the set screw is designed well for your fingers.
I'm happy with it and would buy it again.
