For any serious fan of John Denver's voice and music, this CD is a special treasure. Here Denver takes his usual emotional tour of his state of mind, the state of his personal relationships, and the way he is looking at and experiencing the world over a period of time in which he tours the Orient. The beautiful result is this cycle of beautifully sung and arranged and well-integrated songs. From the opening moments of "Seasons of the Heart", through "Shanghai Breezes" to the end strains of "Without Love", this is a thoughtful, emotionally-expressive, and very intelligent oral symphony, and it is a tribute to John's mature talents that it is still "out there" and spinning on in so many places. He is still with us,and for some of us his loss will always be felt, but he is especially present with this wonderful CD. Far out!

These are early 1980 songs--the majority written by John. He also produced this album. These songs aren't as popular as all of his other material, but because John Denver wrote the words and gave heartfelt performances, I'm a fan! Also, the album cover is his self-portrait--pretty cool.

I like this album, but not as much as Denver's earlier music. And that's in spite of the fact that Denver's singing proficiency has significantly improved and matured. In this album, he obviously is singing with much more musical control of his voice. But the trade off, is that the music lacks the youthful exuberance of his earlier music, and it is that youthful exuberance that I miss in this album

I damaged the original cd and ordered a replacement. While it clearly said it was remastered, I hoped it would be a decent duplication of the original. Surprise! It is a much improved version. Best thing to me is that PERHAPS LOVE does not have Placido Domingo doing the duet. Instead there is nice harmony backup - the way it should have been released. Love it! I could listen to this version all day.

Yes I am a John Denver fan for life. His words always have a special meaning for me. I listen to his albums when I'm on my own in my car and a place where I can get real value out of his songs. This album is the first one that I have bought in quite a while, so I'm rediscovering him once again.
Yours sincerely,
Dermot Healy.

Another awesome CD. John was one of a kind. His voice is so calming, & relaxing. The best part the songs are what is important to him, & how he felt when he was writing a special song. Truly special songs from his feelings, & life. A magical writer of songs, feeling, & dreams.....

This album is one of his best. The title song is followed by several songs which should have received much more play. I am especially fond of Heart to Heart. Other favorites like Shanghai Breezes and Perhaps Love are on this album. These are two of the best songs he wrote and sang. If you're a John Denver fan you should have this CD.

John Denver, one of the greatest - and most underappreciated - musical talents of the late 20th century. He wrote beautiful songs, full of meaning, sentiment and love and conveyed all this to us through his magnificent voice. Sorely missed, but one of my constant companions through his music.

Some songs I had never before, great addition to my JD collection. I have played it several times, it's fabulous, one of his best collections. I sent the second copy I bought to my brother in law in NZ.
