Falling into forever- H has been burned in past by dishonest partner. The h is running from an abusive ex- husband. They(H and h) meet and fall in love. Her inability to come clean with the H plays a big part in their relationship. He finally figured it out in time to prevent her tenacious ex from even greater abuse.
Second Glances- The Springs-this is the story of an h who walls in love with the H. However, it is really his twin she falls in love with. It takes a getaway vacation for him to make sure she finally realizes who she loves.
All three books end in an HEA, but even though they are stand alone books, the epilog hints at what is to come in the next story. All three are sweet stories and enjoyable to read
Sam, a local pub owner Samantha is headstrong, feisty and completely against The Springs development although she is definitely for the owner.
In book two Kari's car breaks down in Cedar Creek and Officer Anderson responds to the call. Rhys recognizes something is off about the stories Kari tells but he doesn't push for the truth. Kari is hiding a big secret but telling anyone likely puts her or them in danger.
Book three is the story of Kylie, who works for Sam, and an all expense paid trip from a mystery man. When Malcolm, the identical twin of her ex-boyfriend meets her, everything is wrong but completely right at the same time.
There was something strange about the formatting but it may be how it shows on a mo Ike device. The voice of the narrative would change with no visual beak. You'd be reading one paragraph as Sam and the very next paragraph was Trent. It continued throughout all three books which was odd. The romances were well developed and the steamy stuff was steamy but didn't dominate the story. Overall good reads all.
The first two books are very standard romance formulas -- handsome hotel developer who is wary of love meets feisty and beautiful local who hates development, handsome sheriff meets beautiful woman on the run from hidden danger. Despite the deep reliance on cliche, the stories entertain due to a freshness in the dialogue and a winning way of describing natural beauty. They aren't page turners because they're so predictable. But as a way to spend the afternoon, you could do much worse. The novella attempts to weave in more fantasy, but it doesn't work very well. After reading two novels about the work and organization involved in running successful businesses in a resort area, shifting focus to a magical island that automatically supplies whatever guests need and want is too much of a jump.
All in all this was a sweet, enjoyable read. Perfect for the beach or a rainy or snowy day.
