We chose this item because it included both the chiming / alarm device and the beam. And it is also quite affordable for all you get. We did not like the hit-or-miss nature of motion detector chimes. Every single person going in and out of the store is registered with a chime. We placed the chime at about knee height so as to catch everyone (minus crawlers I suppose). VERY HAPPY WITH OUR PURCHASE! The seller sent everything in a timely manner as well.
Then comes Seco-Larm. The install itself wasn't so hard, and the long cable between the sensor and speaker was really convenient. I now have the chime in the back of the store, instead of blaring a loud noise and scaring customers walking in our store. There has been ZERO false alarms since we've installed it. We expected another POS, and this product just blew our expectations. The instructions could have been written a tad bit better, but all in all, we're very happy with it! It's a little more expensive, but we're happy to pay the price cause the cheap products were not working whatsoever.
Placing the pen-like pointer along the top of the Seco-Larm the red dot from the pointer point to the top of the mirror across the room simplifying placing the mirror in-front of the laser beam.
I purchased a Wall Mount Round Base Flexible Bracket Stand by Gino which will allow mounting the new Seco-Larm at any angle to the wall. So I can aim the Seco-Larm unit diagonally across a room.
By mounting the unit at shoulder height allows our pets to walk past the alarm without setting it off.
Power to the alarm is controlled by Sunlite Appliance Timer to power up and down at set times.
However. the second one was DOA (Dead On Arrival). Returned it. Purchased another so I didnt have any downtime. The third one Rang once, now no more. Cant figure out why.
Its a great little alarm when it decides to work, but just beware.
