Second Chance Love is exactly what the title says...a second chance at love with the one that got away. This is a FANTASTIC read and one that I would recommend to anyone that enjoys a love story mixed with emotion, humor (Shawn Inmon style), and true heart.
Because Steve was a truly nice person, he once again gained Elizabeth's heart, though she was not willing to immediately fall into what could be more than she could handle. Still, from a new beginning, things worked one way or another until a tragedy created a huge problem. Elizabeth, being the kind of person she was, made Steve aware of what was best, and that led them into a joint adventure that truly made them reallize that they loved, and loved dearly. Though tragic financially, Steve recognized that money was not everything. His kindness to his employees endeared him to them in ways he never expected.
When a bitter, frustrated (and truly nasty) ex-female friend turns on Steve and things look bleak, Elizabeth's years of working in a used book store and reading all the mysteries allow her to turn it all around and the all's well that ends well.
I loved those I was supposed to love, laughed when I was supposed to laugh, and could not put the book down even though it was 2:00 am. I will treasure this and re-read as I do those books I love (because I read so fast, and I can't buy new books on a regular basis)
This is a new author to me and I will make it my business to read more by him. His Author's Notes was as good as the story.
This book doesn't contain gratuitous sex or extreme violence. It's the story of two people finally having the opportunity to declare their love for each other and begin moving forward. In spite of Steve losing his millions, Elizabeth affirms that she has no interest in the wealth he lost. They love each other and Elizabeth wants them to build their relationship on that love.
I would definitely read this book again.
I'm not sure what is going on. Did the author just take those three books and combine them in one? No matter, It was not for me. Too depressing.
