And omg left at the edge of your seats . Sophie is trying to let go with her past but she has trouble with it .kyle wants to get closure from his past with father but put it on hold when Sophie and Lexi were shot.now he has his submissive at his home and he will take care of her no matter what but will Sophie stay or will it be to much ? This book had me cheering for these two and the bdsm scenes were amazing.
I love them and just believe everyone deserves a second chance at love.
The last book ended on a huge cliffhanger, and Second Chances picked up right where the previous book ended. It is intensely emotional right from the start, and from there it is full of ups and downs for the main characters. Sophie's lack of trust in herself and her Dom, Kyle, put her and her friend in huge danger and she has to deal with the consequences of that mistake. She has a big ordeal to get through, but Kyle is there for her. He is an amazing Dom, I'm totally in love with him. He has to help Sophie deal with her problems, but he also has problems of his own to deal with. Kyle is still searching for his father, and this is a fascinating sub-plot. There is so much going on here, it makes this book incredibly difficult to put down.
One of the things that I love about this series is the relationship between Sophie, Lexi, Candy and the rest of their friends. They are such fun together, and they're so supportive of Sophie. The next book in the series is Candy and Derek's story - I love Candy so this will be a must read for me. Abigail Lee Justice is a new author to me, but she's made it onto my list of favourite BDSM authors. Second Chances definitely receives five big stars!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
I love this series. They are steamy, romantic, have a bit of danger, and draw you in. Kyle has a need to protect and provide for Sophie. However after Sophie's husband died she became super independent. To ask for help is weakness to her and she refuses to be weak. After the shooting however she realizes how wrong she was. She knows she has a lot of things to work through if she wants another chance with Kyle. She will need to learn to accept help, and share her feelings with him if their relationship stands any chance at all. Kyle likes that she can think for herself and care for herself. He likes that she is totally dependent on him however he wants to do things for her. Take care of her, buy her things, do things for her. There is a difference between wanting to do things for her and not wanting her to do things. He doesn't want to control so much as for her to give up control to him, there is a difference. Their relationship is wonderful. Sophie wants to care for Kyle; she has a giving nature naturally. Sophie really grows during this book. Their relationship grows so much and they both learn things about each other and their self. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.
If you've not read Bound by Her Master, the first book in this series, you definitely have to read that first before you start with Second Chances.
In this edition of the Heart Series, Sophie finds herself paying for her bad choices. In a true D/s relationship the Dom is the one who's responsible for taking care of his/her submissive. Sophie ran from her Dom and asked him not to communicate with her. Circumstances change in a heartbeat and she finds herself needing Kyle in a way she never thought would come to fruition. Kyle, however, is no where to be found. Has he left her for good? Did she destroy their budding relationship before it could fully get started?
Kyle has demons he must deal with and while he's in the process of dealing with them....he finds Sophie needs him more than ever before. He must move heaven and earth to get to her. Boy does this move your heart with expectations and "seeing" how much these characters care for each other but are too stubborn to fully admit what level of feelings they truly have.
The characters evoke various emotions throughout the story. Their BDSM scenes are worth the read alone. This is definitely a tale of how you can learn to trust your Master if you chose this lifestyle. Kyle is a Dom through and through. Sophie may get on your nerves a time or two....she's used to being independent and trying to learn how to allow Kyle to deem what's best for her is very trying. I don't think I would be good at it either.
I always find these books interesting. I like to read about the dynamics and see how the characters react together and what type scenes the author chooses to use in the story line. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
