This was a great read. The second half was especially intriguing, and I found myself glad I had a night alone to finish it. I especially enjoyed the writing style and the character development. It had some similarities to Jane Austen novels, especially the humor and wit, but Caroline, the main character, was more feisty and open than any Austen characters. --Amazon
I throughly enjoyed this book-I could hardly put it down! The description of the characters brought them to life, I could picture them in my mind's eye. I thought the story line was engaging and was sad to see the end of the book. I really liked the jumps in time to describe the background of the main characters and how they felt about each other and their family. I hope to read more from this author! --Amazon
This book was well written and easy to follow. I love books that take place in the regency time era. The main character has a strong personality which makes the book enjoyable. I also enjoy the suspense of the main character having to choose between two possible suitors. Great read! --Amazon
From the Back Cover
Caroline is not looking forward to this year's season in London. Her mother already has schemes for her marriage prospects'Äö√Ñ√d--and none of them include love, it seems. Caroline has second thoughts when a dashing young duke begins to pursue her, but he's not the only young man she has found herself falling for. Caught between ambition and desire, Caroline may gamble her heart away without even realizing it . . .
"Have you ever considered that because you see me for what I am, I find you attractive? Surely everyone must have their equal."

I loved the pacing of the novel and felt like the plot was perfect, with just enough drama, wit and sweet moments. The language throughout was also reminiscent of 19th century writers, but maybe not quite as flowery, so it was easy and fun to read. It was so nice to get a fresh take on the London Season with a different type of heroine and a new style of prince charming. I can't wait for more!
