Continuum is worth the hype. After discovering season one while it was still just a small Canadian show, I've been salivating for the second season. In the months since the first season ended though, Continuum has blown up in the US and while I am incredibly grateful for this--I was worried that it would somehow be affected or influenced in a negative manner given a bigger budget and larger audience.

While the special effects used have been consistently top notch, the reason why this show works so well for me is not because it's scifi, but because of its emphasis on the characters. Personally, I think one of the greatest achievements of a scifi picture, is when it can let the viewer actually forget that is what they are watching. When the setting and characters are so authentic, that it's simply real. And I believe Continuum not only accomplished that in the first season, but that they are also nailing it in this season as well.

Part of the larger budget has gone into better production quality, and it makes it visually an even more pleasure than watching the first. All the characters are back in a big way, and the storylines being set up are delicious. Enough cannot be said about Rachel Nichols acting. She is capable of both intense vulnerability as well as total and complete world domination. Very few actresses in Hollywood could even begin to attempt to pull Kiera off, but Nichols is simply captivating. The actor playing Kellog is also somewhat of a revelation. I know you're supposed to hope for Kiera to either make it back to her own time to be with her husband or end up with Carlos, but Kellog is just awesome.

I AM HOOKED!

I am a huge sci fi fan, have been since Star Trek TOS when it aired during my Junior High School years!(just really dated myself) Regardless, I stumbled across Continuum on Netflix and it took me a few weeks before I finally clicked on the icon to give the show a try, man am I glad I did! I watched season 1 in one week, but I had not realized that season 2 had already begun, so thankful for Amazon Instant Video. I am caught up now and the DVR is set for the rest of the season. This show is outstanding. Multiple character development, a flash forward flash back story line that keeps a viewer glued, hoping to figure out the next revelation. The ensemble cast does a fabulous job and Rachel Nichols lead character work is first rate, absolutely fantastic! The CGI is great, not too over the top and the camera angles used during some of the scenes really bring you into the action in a very unique way. each episodes Direction is superb and I have to give a big shout out to the sound team! From on location recording, to studio mixing and editing, to foley, all of it is blended beautifully. I never miss any dialog, even when s*** is blowing up all around the characters in a scene, good work people! This show is what makes watching television great and it deserves a long run.

So far I love the show. The reason for giving it three stars is that the video is not smooth at all, which is a little distracting. Another reason for only three stars is that it is censored both in video and audio. The audio censorship is obvious and detracts from the experience of the show. There are a few spots in the show so far that I have seen parts of the video being blurred out to cover something. Hopefully Amazon will fix the video issues and stop censoring it, or if Amazon has nothing to do with it being censored get the network that is licensing it to remove it.

I had a chance to catch the first 6 episodes of season 2 in Canada and all I can say is if you love season one, you won't be disappointed. I wish we could order Canadian releases in the states, but for some reason it is not possible...licensing for SyFy probably...but it's finally begun here so go buy the season!

A new twist on time travel, the bad guys are bad, but our heroine isn't necessarily defending good guys in the future. A clever twist.

Being a Sci-Fi fan, I was looking forward to seeing this new (to the U.S.) series. Great plot lines, good acting, nice sets. I screwed up not recording the first 2 episodes. Paid 3 bucks to see them. Worth every penny. Can hardly wait for the next episode.

Season 2 of Continuum not only continues but greatly expands on this story of the band of freedom fighting anarchists who travel from a corporate-controlled dystopian future (2077) back to 2012 (now 2013 in this season) and their violent attempt to change their now current events and, thus, the future. They were, however, accompanied by a cop from their time with plans to stop them and bring them to justice. Primary characters City Protective Services officer Kiera Cameron (Rachel Nichols), teen super-techie Alec Sadler (Erik Knudsen) and Vancouver B.C. detective Carlos Fonnegra (Victor Webster) are joined by most of the regulars who appeared in Season 1 as well as new allies and enemies, and some who are initially difficult to place in either category. The overall quality of the production itself has been increased this season which only adds to the enjoyment of the show, especially when coupled with the intriguing and sometimes complex, character interactions, not to mention the plot. The plot twists that are introduced in Season 2 keep you on your toes as virtually any scene in any episode can provide some insight into what may (or may not) happen next, or in just a little while. Though based in the genre, this is so much more than a science fiction series and is truly an excellent expansion to the storyline. If you have seen Season 1, get 2 now. If you have yet to view Continuum, start with 1 and move to 2. Highly recommended.
