The college QB is her annoying neighbor. Nix lives across the street. Partying is all he cares about. Loud nights with constant noise brings Elle nothing but grief. She just wants him to go away! She even has the cops on speed dial.
Nix has gotten himself into a bit of trouble. His goal is to get drafted by the NFL, but he needs to clean up his image. A little volunteer work should do the trick. Little did he know he's going to be spending some one-on-one time with his pink-haired nemesis.
She wants nothing to do with him, until they are forced to spend time together over spring break. She never expected to see Nix volunteering. Everything she thought she knew is about to go up in smoke after being forced to work together and establish a truce, he just became the guy she can't stop thinking about!
This story was more than just a college romance. It is a story of self-discovery. Coming to terms with things about yourself you may not like and working to overcome them. Facing a future that has been laid out for you, even when you are questioning your path. I enjoyed the main characters and I cannot wait for more of the series. Loved it!
Phoenix Russo, seemingly cocky football quarterback and in the words of Elle, “kind of gorgeous that made you wonder if he weren’t real-life CGI.” What Elle doesn’t know is that Nix has his demons too. When Elle and Nix end up on the same project, things begin to change. WOW! Just WOW. Love the metamorphosis.
Ms. Hughes can write some of the sweetest steamy scenes ever written. There is humor, angst and tear-inducing moments, all of which finishes with a beautiful HEA. I have bookmarked so many scenes in this book it looks like a rainbow ;-)
I volunteered to review an ARC and it comes highly recommended. This one gets 10 Stars! I want to see the movie. I CAN’T wait for Berk and Jules’ story!!!
"Was there ever someone more confusing and infuriating than Elle?"
Nix was a complete surprise to me. He had so many layers, and isn't who you (or Elle) thinks he is. He's more than a football player. He's sweet, caring, not the alpha jock people peg him for. He's a freaking chef. Who doesn't love a man that cooks. But, when it comes to Elle they rarely saw eye to eye.
"All I wanted was a chill spring break, but she had to push buttons like she was manning a submarine."
The more time they spent together, and got to know one another, the closer they got, and the more sparks flew between them. Elle, learned Nix isn't what she thought he was, and Nix learns there's more to the pink haired menace. They suit each other. But, with graduation coming up, will they have time for each other?
"They’re peewee football compared to how I feel about you. You’re the pros, Nix, and if I couldn’t handle my heart being broken back then, there is no way I’d be able to deal when things fell apart with you."
I loved this story. I couldn't wait for Nix's book, and I'm so, so happy with it. Who doesn't love a good enemies to lovers romance. This has heat, angst, fun and quirk. I really hope Keyton gets a book. Something about him I really like. Can't wait for more from this series and the Fulton U guys.

Elle and Nix’s story had all of the above!
I have to admit that Elle did annoy me at times, she was a little too judgemental but she has been hurt before so I can kind of understand where it comes from.
Let’s talk about Nix! Where can I find me one of him?! I kinda adored everything about him *swoon!
I thoroughly enjoyed this read and I’m super excited for Berks and Jules story, bring it on!!
This is the first book I have read by this Author & it definitely will not be my last, Love her style.
