Glad that I found this book. Gives an excellent insight into the culture of StoneCo and what kind of a business they are aspiring to be. I can sense the energy in the company just by reading this book. I have been following the company for sometime but It is impossible to go gain this level of insight just from the annual reports. Thank You Augusto Lins and Marcela Bourroul. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

5 Seconds: Serving Clients the Stone Way Kindle Edition
Founded in 2012, Stone was the first independent company to challenge the duopoly of the credit card acquirer market in Brazil. Long before the term "fintech" gained traction, its founders decided to innovate in a sector that was transforming the whole world. But how, in just eight years, does a company go from half-a-dozen ambitious adventurers huddled together in a small office in the center of Rio de Janeiro to a company that in 2020 was worth more than 100 billion reais and had more than 500 thousand customers and six thousand employees? Stone’s extraordinary growth was founded on creating a strong culture and innovative solutions, while never forgetting the ultimate goal: to help the small business owner to sell more, manage better and continue to grow.
It was with the goal of becoming the partner of choice for small and medium Brazilian retailers that Stone unearthed new ways of resolving old issues. It set up its own customer relations network and a unique distribution model to create a truly innovative business. It has turned its company culture into a competitive advantage by bringing together a talented team and by assessing people’s potential and focusing on their dreams rather than looking merely at their resumes. In addition, it did not settle for being just a collections machine: today, Stone is exploring new markets, such as management software and financial services. In this book, Augusto Lins, president and partner of the company, looks back at the company’s rise and shares some insights into Stone’s way of doing business, so that other Brazilian entrepreneurs might feel similarly inspired.
