Belle, a former Marine, is a tough woman but inside she is hurting. As a last minute decision, she flies to Miami to attend a wedding, not any wedding but her ex’ one.
Peter Morgan, heir to the Morgan’s fortune, is a tough man but inside he is hurting also. He can’t forget his mother’s abandonment when he was only five years old. That is the reason why he can trust any women and because of that, his brother John, his sister Victoria and his brother-in-law to be Colt make a bet that he will be unable to date a woman for a month plus they have to choose the woman and of course they choose Belle.
He meets Belle at his sister’s wedding. From the very beginning, Belle is able to see the sadness, the loneliness and the good inside him. People think he is just like his father but Belle knows better.
I did like the book. I loved Peter’s integrity and honesty and the way he helps people in need and also Belle’s ability to see the good in people, even though other people are unable to see it. The story is well-developed with some twists at the end I didn’t see coming.
The only but I have is the editing. I found quite a few mistakes. Apart from that, it was a great reading.
When Belle and Peter meet its an instant connection and sparks fly and one thing leads to another and Belle finds that Peter is the guy that is able to break down her tough exterior. The author creates characters in such a way that I fell in love with them and so I wanted to root for them. A former Marine, Belle never has felt particularly pretty so she's a little confused by the attention she suddenly receives from uber rich Peter. But, what the heck, it's Christmas Eve and it's Miami, and Peter is hot, hot, hot. Just when you think you know where this story is going, the author tosses in a couple wrenches and skews the plot. Will Belle discover the bet? How will that make her feel? Will the bet ending have any impact on Peter's feelings? Do we even get as far as the bet ending? The only way to know is to read the book!!
Peter was raised, no he was groomed, to take over and be his father's prodigy clone. He takes what he wants, when he wants it, but still has his heart, despite not exercising it. Everyone has a price, if you can find it you can control the situation. At his sister Victoria's rehearsal dinner a bet is made that he can't date a chosen woman for a month. His siblings get to pick the woman, and then Belle walks in and is it. By the next night he wants to call it off and make it real but is it to late? Is Belle the first woman to not have a price? Throw in some twisted family drama and a bombshell dropped at the end, this book was impossible to put down!
I voluntarily leave this review based on reading an ARC. I look forward to reading the continued stories based on the House of Morgan siblings!
I liked the storyline but I would have liked the book to have had a bit more vim. I will look at reading the rest of the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my voluntary and honest review.
