The book is clean--no language, no sexual innuendo, a little violence but no-one actually gets hurt. It's easy to read and the story flows well. Also, very few editorial errors. (I think I noticed 2. This is pretty amazing for a self-published book. Way to go!)
The prologue and first 2 chapters read like short stories with almost no relationship to each other, but the relationships become apparent as the story progresses and the plot-lines intertwine.
The story is complete and stand-alone, but the author does leave a lot of loose ends to tie into the sequel that he has promised to write.
captivated me from the very first page!
You have to suspend reality , at times, but that is what makes this book so delightful! We need to escape , sometimes and just get caught up
in a wonderful story.
I loved the quirky characters, especially, Andrew, the Spunky hero of the story.
And the 'good' characters were so caring and loveable. There were a few people of rather questionable character but that enhanced
the story even more.
There is or has to be a sequel . Please Mr. Shahabi! This books does have a happy ending, but things were left where a sequel would
be possible. Let's Hope so!
The sense of mystery builds up slowly but there is more than enough going on to keep you turning the pages. The writing is very smooth and the author has a real talent for choosing just the right words. I particularly enjoyed the way the story slowly built up the world around you and the back stories attached to the characters.
Now and then I found myself smiling at some rather cool social/life observations: ‘Love is the only taste you can’t refine’ and ‘cool— a trait that looks the same everywhere in the world.’ That is just a couple from a story which is filled with many gems and has a positive message beneath the surface.
Overall The Secret Billionaire is an enjoyable YA mystery with likable characters and enough plot twists to keep you hooked. I look forward to future works from this talented author.
Well, he is introduced to a new secret.
Who is Lucian Baker? Years before Andrew was born a wealthy gentleman stunned the nation with his disappearance and with the naming of his heir--one, Lucian Baker. A world-wide hunt is undertaken but the correct gentleman is not found and the treasure is left hidden.
This was a wonderful book, I had a few ideas of how the plot was going to work out and with each twist of the story I was left starting over! The author, Mr. Teymour Shahabi, has promised that with enough encouragement that he would continue the story of Andrew Day, Hoss and Elder with a sequel--I hope that he keeps up his end of the deal.
The book ended with a lot of questions both for the main character and the reader. I trust the author will address these open items in the sequel he has promised. So far he hasn't shied away from addressing the difficult aspects of the plot, so I hope his sequel is equally thought-out and logical and not overly coincidental as would be the easy thing to do.
I will agree with another reviewer that the title made me think the book was a dramatic romance. If I didn't have a thing for houses on book covers, I would have passed right by. But the high rating and then the book description made me purchase the book.
Overall the book was an enjoyable, refreshing read. I will anticipate the sequel.

The author weaves a tangled tale which makes it hard to put the book down. You REALLY will want to know what comes up next.Read more
