Some years ago I had a deck of Dakini cards which I used fairly regularly (daily). The reading detail is excellent, covering the physical, psychological & energetic levels as well as the sub-concious.
Due to the detail provided, making interpretations yourself is minimised. They can be used indefinitely (you don't outgrow them) because of the extent of Universal Truth covered by them and may continually deepen your perceptive understanding of what is meant. Thus, the Dakini cards/book are the best I have come across in intuitive reading materials.
I no longer have the cards, but came across this book at a bargain price & thought I'd try it. You can open a random page instead of picking a card, but you know the book goes up in number sequence. So loose cards have less placement fixture, enabling the picking process to be MORE random. Also, for life and bigger scale readings than the present moment, you need the cards to make the multi-card patterns, depicting periods of time in a process/journey.
Before writing this review, I read a very bad review of this deck. I never thought of the imagery as crude and repellant. But, come to think of it, when I use this deck in public, I sometimes exclude a handful of cards for that reason.
I also don't appreciate some of the card imagery - I'd say about 6 or so cards are unacceptable to me.
But this is still my favorite deck for the greater depth and insight it offers.
The book is worth it. Perhaps the book may be used to study the current deck you have as the arcana may be related to all traditionally situated Decks?
I think it's worth it.
... for doing general and extended readings. We find it quite reliable and most particularly the book that comes with it is illuminating. Most books that come with tarot/oracle decks are filled with gibberish and should be tossed out immediately, but this book is amazingly good and truly serves to spark one's imagination when referencing this oracle. Highly recommended.
