I'm on a mission to inspire the world to be creative!

Tumble down the rabbit hole and find yourself in my inky black and white Wonderland... I'm an illustrator and ink evangelist who prefers pens and pencils to pixels. I create intricate, hand drawn illustrations that adorn colouring books, coffee cups, trainers, walls, beer bottles and even walls!

My creativity is cultivated by a curious imagination and a delight in the fantastic. Much of my work has roots in the flora and fauna that surrounded me growing up on my parent's fish farm in rural Scotland.

Every piece I create starts life as a simple pencil sketch, evolving into a rambling pen and ink drawing usually spanning several sheets of paper. I love the tactile nature of the materials I use and the joy of smudgy fingerprints. My delicate hand inked designs intend to charm and delight, inviting you to peer closer and discover the hidden intricacies.

For me, computer generated graphics can feel cold and soulless whereas hand drawing captures a sense of energy and character which no pixel can ever replicate. I'm on a mission to vanquish the vector and champion the (wobbly) hand drawn line.

Where to begin? I purchased Johanna Basford's Secret Garden coloring book Secret Garden: An Inky Treasure Hunt and Coloring Book awhile ago, and was so enchanted with it that I pre-ordered this postcard set. It finally arrived, and it was definitely worth the wait.

These include more of Johanna's beautiful work in a small postcard sized format. They're printed on heavy-weight cardstock, suitable for just about any coloring medium. I tend to use mostly colored pencils, but I'll likely be using some alcohol markers with these as well (Spectrum Noir or Copic).

I make hand-crafted greeting cards, and these are the perfect size to use as card fronts. I can add some heat embossing by coloring with a Versamark pen Tsukineko Dual-Ended VersaMarker Pen in Bag, then sprinkling with embossing powder and heat to add a bit of "zing." Speaking of "zing," Stickles glitter glue could also be used with these Ranger TDS-25023 Tim Holtz Designer Series Distress Stickles Glitter Glue, Scattered Straw, 0.5-Ounce.

They would also be lovely matted and framed in a set with coordinated colors.

The fine detail makes these designs both intricate and interesting, and the garden theme is charming. I can't wait to use several of them in my cards. (I'm about 3/4 finished with one of them as I type this.)

If you like Johanna Basford's work, you'll LOVE these postcards. Highly recommended.

I was going through a stressful time at work dealing with an exceptionally difficult client. In my down time this coloring book has saved my sanity. I don't like wasting time on frivolous things, and I love the fact that once these are colored they can be detached and sent to friends. Sanity inspired coloring with a purpose! The card stock is thick with a high quality feel. The black lines are bold and have penetrated the card stock well. I have used watercolor pencils on these cards and the water has no effect on the black lines- no bleeding, fading, wear etc. These cards also tear away easily and cleanly. Nothing would be more frustrating than spending time on coloring a pretty card only to have the tear-away edge destroy your work. Luckily that's not an issue with these. They are definitely high quality and have helped with stress, boredom etc.

The different designs are great. Some are very complex and some significantly less so. There are definitely options on how detailed of a picture you'd like to spend your time on. All are lovely and well thought out.

I bought them along with Prismacolor Pencils (24 set).. and they are beautiful garden designs for coloring. Not all the cards have garden images that is suitable for coloring cuz there are some tiny spaces, cuz the designs were originally not meant for a postcard I guess.. but if you love coloring, and you don't mind messing up cuz the true joy of coloring is in messing up a little bit.. and also, if you love sending postcards.. this is totally for you. I bought one for myself, colored as I pleased (used no reference as some people quoted they did for the Secret Garden book). I intend to continue to color as I please and create the designs I love. I also write poetry on the backside.. and it is large enough to write an 8-10 liner poem.. the area to stick the stamp has a cute little vine which I don't like to compromise so I always stick the stamps next to them, not on top of them.

I bought this for myself, and bought a second one as a gift for an artist friend who loves to color as well. She was so delighted about this book. This is worthy every penny you spend on it, provided you have the time to and enjoy coloring without guidelines.

Que aunque lo anuncien como libro de postales, yo lo he comprado para colorearlo simplemente. Otra gran ventaja es que la calidad del papel es mucho mejor, es de muy buena calidad (cartulina gruesa).
Las ilustraciones están a una sola cara, y aunque sea un tamaño de libro pequeño encuentro que la mayoría de las imágenes tienen un buen tamaño para colorearlas sin problema ya que las ilustraciones de más detalle en lugar de simplemente poner la imagen original reducida lo que han hecho es poner la imagen ampliada.
Por todo lo mencionado se puede colorear con cualquier medio sin preocuparte de estropear el siguiente dibujo. ¡es ideal!
Yo personalmente hay veces que me apetece colorear algo que no sea grande y que quede terminado el mismo día y hacerlo relajadamente sin preocuparme de manchar otro dibujo ni nada por eso me ha gustado mucho esta opción.
Lo recomiendo tanto si lo quieres usar para enviar postales coloreadas por ti o si lo quieres tener como libro de colorear, y es apto para todo tipo de público

I was SO happy when I discovered these pretty floral (matte) postcards to colour and send to friends. They are one-sided (for colouring) and are easily removed from the side-binding: it's similar to taking paper from a pad BUT this is thick cardboard or heavy card stock. The back of each has a postcard look to it (though a bit bigger) with stamp area and simple address lines on the right & blank for message on left. The picture on each card is significantly different from others so you don't get the "been there, coloured one like that" feeling at all. For instance, one card has a solo sunflower with large leaves and bees, while another has a whimsical vine with almost rhythmic sway and a variety of artsy flowers. The scenes are well balanced with attention given to providing some important white space as well. Most of the cards have lots to colour (though not too intricate or tedious for me) yet frankly, just a couple had small designs for their area but so what? I have enjoyed colouring the majority of cards in this book. Additionally, I was able to find Prismacolor coloured pencils I like a lot and a set of Royal Langnickel NEON pencils to add just a little extra zip here & there.
