Reverse Harem is a new genre for me, but I was willing to try it because I love all of Siobhan's work. I'm really glad that I took the risk, because I loved the first book in this series, just like I love all of her work. I was so upset when the first one ended. I just wanted the rest of the story and I wanted it right there and then!
I was really excited for book 2, The Secret Heir. As always, Ms. Davis did not disappoint. I love her writing. I love how it draws me in. Within in a few sentences, she has me hooked in, and I am home. There is something so truly delicious about the comfort of picking up a book by a favorite author and knowing the writing will be superb.
I really liked getting to see more of Alinthia/Tori's relationships with each of the boys. In particular, I loved getting to see the interactions between Tori and Beck, because he is my favorite. There is something about that shy boy that is just so gosh darn cute, I can't resist it!!! Dane drove me crazy, but in a good way, the way where you are mad at a character because they're driving you crazy, but you wouldn't actually change it, because it's in line with who the character is.
There are some really surprising things that happen in this book. I was in suspense almost the entire time I was reading this book.
The ending nearly killed me and I can't wait to see what happens next. If you liked the first book in the series, I would definitely recommend The Secret Heir!
Tori is coming to grips with her identity and her powers. As she is training with Maddox, she is trying to learn more about everything from Dane but ends up butting heads with him more than anything. On top of that, she is trying to help Coop with his jealousy and pull Becket out of his shyness. Tori is attracted to each of them individually and their own reactions to Tori is what helps push this story forward. They all play an intricate role in what is to come.
I won't give away any plot points as this is a book (series) that the reader needs to experience everything first hand by themselves. Siobhan takes us on a journey that is not only entertaining but intriguing. You find yourself wanting to get to know these characters more as we learn more about them and how things came to be.
Siobhan's writing style immerses you into the world she has created. There is no slow down with the twists, action and suspense she brings. There's a lot that goes on, but not once do you feel lost - you just see the bigger picture being put together slowly. And in true Siobhan style, she leaves us reeling with a cliffy that has us begging for the next book NOW.
I received this book yesterday, and read it straight through. I was up until about 3 am to finish it because I just couldn't put it down.
I have been dying to get my hands on a copy of this book since I finished the first one. The wait was definitely worth it! The story starts out exactly where the last one ends. I'm not going to get into any details because I don't want to spoil the story for anyone. I will only say that if I had to pick one word to tell you what the story is about, I would say "trust." Siobhan does a fantastic job with the story. Her descriptions make everything come to life. I will say that things with Tori/Alinthia and the boys get a bit hotter in this one, and there was one part of this book that absolutely had me laughing out loud. I can't tell you more about it, because it's a spoiler. Oh, and the ending....I'm dying here! I can't wait for the next book in the series to be released. The Warrior Princess, book 3, is due to be released somewhere around July/August of this year. I will be impatiently waiting... :)
How do I write my review? I feel like I’m an emotional wreck!
Don’t mistaken my anxiousness. I LOVED the book. I actually want to pick it up and read it again. Even with all its emotion and angst. Oh, I thought I was going to turn inside out at times. But I love these characters. That’s the thing!! I ADORE THEM!!! So when they’re dealing with so much, I’m falling apart!!
This second installment of the Alinthia series really brought Tori (Alinthia) closer to each one of her protectors individually. It was so nice to see each one of their personalities, and how they opened up to her. But, of course there are complications and they cause a lot of worry and angst for Tori (Alinthia) and the guys, and therefore we as the reader feel it along with them. I’m not going to say too much about what happens, because you need to read it to find out. But I will say that Siobhan Davis can write a book that you become so invested in while reading it, that it gets under your skin. And my skin is jumpy today! I need the next book ASAP!!! No pressure or anything!!

Well what a little twist and turn of events that was. I gave this four stars because some of it was a little obvious but it was still a rather entertaining...Read more
