It tells us what happened to Mike's friend Timmy. It gives us an emotional ride with twists and turns around every corner. Mary is trapped inside a burning house ,a ghost gives her boxing lessons and it is revealed why and who the ghost is. The end of the story has me in tears. I couldn't put the book down.
The problem with this series is that you can't skip a book or you will miss important details in the characters' lives. When one book ends, the next one picks right up where it left off, so you pretty much have to read each and every one if you want to know who marries whom and if all of the ghosts in Mary O'Reilly's life finally make it to the light, lol.
In this particular novel, the killer was not shown to the reader at the beginning as he/she sometimes is, but I had no difficulty determining who it was, and maybe that's how the author wanted it. This novel's ending was satisfactory, but since reading the entirety was not, I'm unsure if I will be continuing with the series.
This book focuses in finding Timmy's killer. Mike plays a huge part of this story and his part brought on the tears! If you are a fan or the series I'm sure you will love this book.
