Love, love, love this dog! Way bigger and cuter than expected!

I purchased two of these for my daughters. I was trying to decide between this one and the TY one. Ultimately the girls wanted one that could talk.
I was overly thrilled with this dog for the price! Super cute and it looks just like the dog in the movie. It is bigger than I expected. My girls screamed when they saw it and they are carrying them everywhere and playing with them. I love that it has a function to also turn off the sayings too! They can now sleep with the dogs without the sayings going off all night long. My girls also love the little pink bow on the top too. I notice some dogs online had a red one, but Gidget in the movie has a pink one.
Some of the phrases it says are-
"Oh, your so sweet"
"I'am sure lucky I found you"
"Hi Max"
"Awe, fabulous"
"Guys put your noses on high alert"
"I am done playing nice!"
"Now let's find Max before that rabbit does"
"Let's go!"
"We are not just giving up, we are dedicated, we are loyal, were the greatest pets on earth, were dogs"

Honestly your kids will not be disappointed! This is one toy that was worth the price!!

Happy daughter, happy mommy!

My daughter just loves her new talking Max plush. Max is extremely soft, cuddle friendly, and adorable.. He is a great night time snuggle buddy too. The Max plush we received appears to be extremely well made and durable, which as a parent I really appreciate.

Max has cute floppy ears, brown plastic eyes, a soft pink tongue, rubber like black nose, and a simple blue collar with a soft bone charm. Our max can stand up on all four of his paws/legs and his brown and white tail has a bit of a curve to it (which makes it easy for my daughter to "wag" Max's tail). Max also seems to be an extremely durable and well made plush.

My daughter is 4 years old and unintentionally put Max's durability to the test, immediately upon receiving him. We played with Max for hours the day he arrived. My daughter loved hearing Max talk, and really put her imagination to good use while playing with him. She pretended to have Max do all kinds of cool tricks, in exchange for a carrot treat (courtesy of snow ball). I am always happy when my daughter finds a toy she actually enjoys playing with, and talking Max really fit the bill.

For about the past 6 months my daughter has wanted only plush toys, no board games, no dolls, just plush toys. During this time I have purchased quite a few plush toys for her, and I have to say the Max plush is one of the best made products we have purchased.

Max has two different modes:
1) Tilt to speak;
To get Max to speak when tilted/moved:
Open the Velcro on Max's stomach, slide the little lever over to setting l, and Max will talk when tilted/moved.

2) Squeeze to speak;
To get Max to speak when squeezed:
Open the Velcro on Max's stomach, slide the lever over to option ll, and Max will talk when squeezed.

Our Max says the following phrases in tilt mode:
- I'm Max;
- Right there with you pal. You know why? Cause we are dogs;
- The thing about dogs is that deep down we are all wolves;
- It would please me to chew on a stick just now;
- I got a highly developed sense of smell. I'm a dog alright;

Max says the following phrases when in squeeze mode:
- Please don't go, this time really don't go;
- I'm a lucky dog;
- Well we have the perfect relationship, we really do;
- Our love is stronger than words;

Overall:
I am extremely happy with our Max plush and feel he was worth the price. The product I received was exactly as described and looks just like the Max depicted in the product photos. I think this is an extremely cute and age appropriate toy (the box states this toy is for ages 4 and up). My daughter loves her new Max and I will definitely be purchasing Gidget soon.

I hope everyone enjoys their Max as much as we do! :)

Batteries Included For Demonstration and Need Replacing

The item says "batteries included". When it arrived I couldn't get it to work so I read over the instructions carefully. Still not working. Then I found on the instructions where it says "Note: Batteries included are for in-store demonstration, and should be replaced to improve performance." So while it's possible the toy is defective I believe it's the batteries, which I'll order today and replace. However it should be clear that you need to buy batteries. So before giving it as a gift or handing it to your kid replace the batteries. It's a cute toy for a cheap price, I'd buy again (if it ends up working) just wish I knew to order batteries on the front end.

UPDATE: Got new batteries. This is a great toy at a great price, just make sure and buy batteries! It would have gotten five stars apart from that issue.

Fun pet!

Even better than expected! My 8 year old loves it! Max talks & he has a lot to say with different phrases, just press his tummy. He is so fun! Very well made & the volume is perfect. He does come with an off switch to save battery use but we he has been going strong for 3 months without us having to replace batteries.

Poorly designed toy

The voice is so faint you really can't hear what Gidget is saying. But she's loud enough to wake them up when she decides to turn herself on in the middle of the night. The kids lost interest pretty quickly. We had to take the batteries out to shut her up.

Love this product. Looking for the free toy from McDonalds and couldn't find it, My wife found this one online and bought it. Came in very quickly, Best part about this product is that it talks, but it has an off switch. The voice unit is removable for easy washing, or to make item softer to sleep with.

I just received this toy...a gift for my grandson for Christmas....however, I do not see how to make it talk....it is soft and plush, but it's supposed to talk....if the seller can help me with this, I will not return it....if not, I will have to!!!
