The Secret Kindle Edition
Dear Fellow Bookworms,
I need your help.
I, Rachel Rose, am in quite the pickle with a hot-as-sin English Lit professor by the name of Ty Winslow, and I don’t know how to get out of it.
Let me break it down for you:
Girl meets Guy.
Girl gives Guy her underwear on a dare but nothing else identifying (like her name or number) because she plans to never see Guy again.
But Girl does see Guy again, in a very professional setting, where she is to be the Teaching Assistant to his Professor for an entire semester.
Girl would like to ignore all events of the past, but Guy is a whole list of tempting things that are hard to resist. (See below:)
#1: Insanely attractive.
#2: The most fun a girl could ever have.
#3: Successful and intelligent.
#4: He can quote Walt Whitman at the drop of a hat—which I’m sure you know is a dangerous thing for a literature-lover.
#5: Smooth with a capital S. He could charm the panties off a woman WITHOUT the help of a dare.
And now, Mr. Hot Professor, the man I’m determined to resist, is challenging me to a competition—a playful, secret game, so to speak—where the winner takes all.
My plan? Play the game long enough to win—long enough to walk away with the upper hand—without doing something stupid like falling in love.
If you have any advice, please reach out to me soon—before it’s too late.

"Max and Monroe don't lie when they recommend not to do the following. Reading in public, work, by a light sleeper etc. Their words not mine. I highly suggest you take the recommendations. The Secret had me laughing out loud, snorting at little moments or text between the brothers. Or the banner between Rachel and Ty. This book everyone needs. Some spicy times, sigh worthy moments and hea. I can't wait to see what's next."

The Secret had everything I'd come to love about their books: laughs galore, hot AF steam, feels that had tears streaming down my face, mostly from laughing, a little age gap with a side of forbidden, and I was 69 shades of addicted."

Rachael has been living out on the West Coast, anything to stay away from her over bearing Father. He has been like that since her mom died. She is ready to start fresh start, turn a new leaf, work on herself.
With her Dad the head of the English Department at the University of New York she goes back to get her master for free and she misses her older sister terrible. Rachels Dad sets her up to be a TA for Professor Ty in his English Literature class.
Little did she know he was the guy she met in the club last night. The guy she gave her panties to.
One dare leads to the next and before they know it they find themselves together.
This book is written perfectly with just enough edge to it. Will they get caught by dear old dad? Will they fall apart or will they fall in love? You have to read it to get those answers.
This was my first book by the author and in the series. I think it works as a standalone but it might be better and more enthralling if you read all of them and are more invested in the other characters lives. It was a great book to pick up and put down throughout the day. Not a binge book but again sometimes that's good
Written in dual first person POV. Lots of sexy times (probably too many) and some humor. Can be read as a standalone but does have characters from the previous Winslow Brothers books (no surprise appearances by Kline, Thatcher or their girls, which I’m more than okay with). Has a HFN but the last chapter does set up Remy’s book. This book had some random scenes, that while funny, didn’t contribute to or progress the storyline.
My biggest issue was with the character of Rachel and the boss/employee relationship. Let me preface this by saying that I don’t believe in double standards. I don’t think that it’s okay for Ty to be a man-child but in the same breath state that Rachel needs to grow up. Ty is a perpetual bachelor and enjoys short “relationships” with women, but he’s almost 40, is established in his career (tenured professor) and while it appears that he doesn’t take his job seriously, he just uses his “mad-child” personality to relate to his students.
Rachel (26 years old) completed her undergrad at Stanford and then stayed in California for the next 4 years not using her degree and generally appearing aimless. She waitresses and was an “influencer” to support herself. There’s nothing wrong with getting a degree and not using it, or not settling on a career right out of college. My issue with Rachel is that she seems to make decisions based on what will annoy her father the most. She never has a conversation with him about what she wants in her life and then gets mad when he makes decisions for her. Yet she goes along with his decisions but does it in a bratty, petulant way. You don’t need a master’s degree in order to be a writer and getting one takes more effort than a bachelor’s degree. Why even show up for class (her own or as a TA) if she doesn’t want the degree?
(It should also be noted that Rachel’s mother died at least 13 years prior, and while I would not put a time limit on grief, I don’t think it makes sense that her post-college life can be attributed to the loss of her mother.)
My other issue is with the boss/employee relationship. When Rachel meets Ty (and does something risqué), he’s just a hot guy in a bar and she’s just an interested party. The next time they meet, he’s a professor and she’s his new TA. She denies that they met before and Ty tries to call her bluff. He treats it as a game and she escalates. I’d like to believe that if either of them said “This is inappropriate workplace behavior and it’s making me uncomfortable” that the other would accept that and the “game” would end. The game they play is stupid and fairly harmless but her escalation was unacceptable. His response was not okay. I wasn’t happy with either of them but kept reading just because it takes a lot for me not to finish a book. Unfortunately, there isn’t really any character development and nothing happens in the book besides a lot of sex in public places.

Anyway… The Secret is a story of the gorgeous Ty. He’s a renowned playboy who finally discovers the love his brothers have been telling him about - but the object of his desire and fascination is off limits.
Rachel Rose… a beautiful, sassy, smart, panty giving temptress with a penchant for playfulness that Ty Winslow cannot ignore. Unfortunately, not only is she his Teaching Assistant but she’s also the youngest daughter of his mentor and father-figure.
The problem is that the pull between these two is powerfully magnetic. What starts off as a challenge and a sexy game of cat and mouse, soon ends up in a fevered, high anticipated and sexy as heck encounter that neither can deny nor forget.
The secret grows into some of the hottest and delicious romps and it becomes obvious to seemingly everyone else except Rachel and Ty that these two are destined to be together. They are a perfect match, but hide behind this secret game they are playing.
But like all good secrets, can they be kept?
Fantastic book that is full of fun, humour and heart racing hotness that quite honestly gets you more than a little hot under the collar! Ty Winslow is one gloriously good professor - if all English literature professors were like him, we’d have no problem getting the world reading again. It even makes me want to read Anna Karenina to see what makes Ty and Rachel so passionate about it.
From the first two books, Ty is nothing like imagined. We’ve only ever seen him as the very mischievous multiple dater. He’s the long standing butt of the families jokes when it comes to his constantly changing dinner guests… so when he finally meets the one woman he doesn’t want to let go of, it’s interesting to see how his family react. How will he convince them that this one is for keeps?
So with one last Winslow brother to go… the fortune tellers predictions are coming true, one-by-one. Ty found his secret love, Jude won his bet and Flynn made good on his pact. Will Remy get his second chance at a love once lost? Excellent series… love these brothers more with each read.
However, just one small gripe… Daisy’s pregnancy… how long?
Ty's a bit of playboy, likes a bit of a joke, doesn't take life seriously. Whilst he is out with his brothers celebrating, one of his brothers new venture, even Ty is a bit surprised when a beautiful woman, that he has never seen before walks up hands him hands him something of hers that he was expecting! Rachel is a strong sassy heroine, though her Dad does like to interfere in her life, just a bit which she is how she ends up being a TA to Professor Winslow also known as hotest guy at the club and owner of Rachel's............
I laughed so much reading this, I had tears running down my face from laughing so much. Their connection and chemistry was instant! I can't wait for Remi's story though I will be sad to say goodbye to these Winslow brothers and this group! Massive 5 stars from me.
