Pic #1 = the cover. Oh yeah! Sets the mood and expectation of what's to come
Pic #2 & Pic #3 = great pencil drawing illustrations throughout. Wouldn't be the same without the artwork
These books are definitely for pre-high school age I think. The level of reading is easier than much of the YA stuff high schoolers read today.
Not much of a spoiler. . .
But the first choice you'll get every time is to do research or time travel. My first response was, "Why is my character not looking at the other characters with a dumbfounded look on his face and saying loudly, 'What do you mean time travel? Are you crazy?!?"
Whichever storyline you choose on that first choice makes sense. True, there are some minor details left out to make it ambiguous and apply to whoever is reading the book. For example you are never told how old you are, exactly, and it doesn't matter. Nor what's up with your own parents that you can be in Japan all by yourself traveling around. Not important to know, even though it's blatantly missing. It's all good.
Kids will have fun with this interactive story. Lots of variety of reading. Pages are all over the place, so you cannot accidentally peek to know what happens next because you'll be taken from page 4 to 17 to 9, etc., as an example.
It's a little game in a book.
There is plenty of adventure, martial arts, magic, time travel and taking down bad guys (and end of a storyline. . .if you choose wrong).
You can make your reading time as long or short as you want.Read more ›
