About the Author

Delaine Moore is a speaker and journalist, and the fiery voice behind the popular blog I Am Divorced Not Dead, where she unabashedly gets down to the good, bad, and "naughty" of life after divorce. After having partnered with relationship expert Dr. John Gray, bestselling author of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus, to create Mars Venus Coaching, Moore is now a masterful mentor when it comes to shedding your married skin, blasting through your self-told lies and excuses, and pursing passion in all areas of your life.

Moore writes for The Huffington Post, Your Tango, and First Wives World, and has appeared on radio and television shows throughout North America. Her essay about a disappointing sexual encounter, “Less Than a Bump and a Grind,” won a Novelette.com Readers’ Choice Award.

A formally trained therapist and hypnotherapist, Moore has counseled, lectured, and written on a variety of women’s issues, including divorce, body image, and single parenting. She lives in Calgary, Alberta with her three kids.

Being a single mom, I could relate to this story on many levels. It made me laugh. I love how candid she was. I also give her credit for dedicating the book to her mother. There is no way I would want to share with my mother, the dildo scene in Las Vegas! OMG and I'm pretty open with my mother. I ABSOLUTELY ENJOYED IT!!

This book is an inspiration for any mom who's going through a separation and/or divorce, and wondering "what happens to my love life now?!" or "Will I ever have a love life again?" Delaine Moore chronicles her adventures in dating (post-divorce) with extreme candor and humor, and gives the reader real hope that anything is possible if you let yourself experience a sex life without regard to other people's opinions or attitudes. It's about you and making yourself happy -- no strings attached. It will make you laugh and cry. It will make you think about your marriage and why it didn't work, and maybe give you some "a-ha" moments.

This book will give you courage to start dating again, if that's what you need (she discusses lots of online escapades, too). And, it will be hard to put it down once you start reading it. It's that good--thoroughly enjoyable and a great escape!

This is a thoughtful examination of the author's awakening as a woman, and a sexual being. Well written, thought provoking. Clearly Delaine Moore put a lot of time and thought into how her various sexual encounters impacted her in all ways. Finding her power and making choices for herself rather than in deference to husband, then another lover. She examines social mores and how they fit what she sought for her life. Also examined her conflicting pulls to care for her children versus her desire to explore and liberate her sexuality, was unxpected and excellent.
A great read with some interesting sex.

I have to say I really enjoyed this book. I read it in less than two weeks. It was like a company to compare in some ways and in other understand and learn about others, beside laugh which I really need sometimes. I would recommend to any women that wants to see itself and understand some sides that sometimes is hard to share with others.

This was a great book to read! I was very into it. I'm not married or divorced but Delaine shows that there is certainly life after divorce! She was quite brave to share her personal life with the world! Kudos to her!

I also found it very scary and sad to be married to such a miserable, verbally abuse person. I believe Delaine Moore showed tremendous courage leaving her husband...especially since she was a stay-at-home mom for years, but I've wondered how she got by when she was separated with her husband, had three kids, and still didn't work.

Enjoyed this book very much. It was interesting how Delaine freed herself from the old "stereotyped" notions of what a woman should be to what a woman can be. I believe we often limit ourselves on the roles society defines for us rather than working, as Delanie does, to find her true self and her own sense of being. What ever builds your sense of wholeness -- go for it.

This book relates ever so closely to my own life at this time as I am becoming this strong and more sensual women I never knew existed. So many aspects of Delaine's story mirror my own experiences and its nice to feel not so alone or crazy in my journey after my separation. Her story telling ability of her life experiences make it a hard book to set down! So many emotions are brought to light through this story and reading the book has further enlightened my own understanding of myself.

I believe that readers deserve more explicit and more juicy details. This book read like a public recital. I guess I was expecting the kind of novel that was revealing and real. This felt contrived for a very particular audience. This book represents the results of very scientific and very targeted marketing.
