Attorney John Loftus is the author of four histories of intelligence operations and a consultant for CBS's 60 Minutes, ABC's Prime Time, and other programs. Interesting book. I find the authors to be in agreement with many other writers on related topics. And it may be that these authors are too kind to the Dulles brothers. There may never have been a more dangerous pair of psychopaths at the center of power in this country than those two. And I might add that it would be hard to believe a lot of what the authors claim were it not for what's happening right now in the Trump administration. What used to go on behind the scenes is now going on right out in the open. Maybe the authors should thank the current administration for making their assertions seem a lot more believable.

The Secret War Against the Jews is a MUST READ for any Jew - or, for any intelligent person - who wants to know how most of the Western world conspired to destroy the Jews before and during the Holocaust - including the US State Department and many leading US industrialists of the time - and then tried to destroy Israel during its founding. Sadly, we can see many of the same forces conspiring today to destroy the Jews, while world leader are either truly ignorant of this history, or feign ignorance to advance their designs.

A Great History Lesson From Original Sources, Scholarly Accomplished

With recent events surrounding the 2016 Presidential Election and the charge of collusion between Trump and the Russians against Hillary, we can see that there is more to the Deep State than the protection of the Constitution and our Republic. It is said that nations have interests and not morals. If so, then why not do state actors, such as FBI agents in positions of authority, having interests and not morals? The answer is that, as it turns out, they do "have interests and not necessarily morals." It should not be a surprise, therefore, that politics, and the Deep State, back in time, back to, well, however far one wants to go, has interests and not necessarily morals.

What Loftus and Aarons have written is a masterpiece describing this dynamic played out with sources that are fully integrated into the story and certainly of the first order. To name one category of sources, how about the files of the CIA themselves. Files few people have seen or can even get a hold of. And then there are interviews with the major players in the various dramas the authors write about.

Start with the fact of anti-Semitism. How much of it is there existing? How deep? How strong? How high up in the political state and in the Deep State? The authors don't answer why it exists, but that it exists, is prevalent and is a threat to the Jews.

The Jews were expendable, they were ripe to be taken out, and Israel cannot continue to exist. The Arabs were not expendable, and history was in their favor, and they had an important alliance with the Western democracies.

Besides, there was money to be made from the Jewish precariousness. So, double dealing towards the Jews was common. Not so much double dealing politicians as double dealing spooks, spook agencies and advisers. It was all pretty sordid. The Jews, as represented by Israel, knew all this and acted accordingly. They got the bomb, the nuclear bomb, just to make it clear they could, like Samson, bring down large pillars on the heads of their supposed friends as well as enemies. It was not meant to be evil, just a deterrent against real double-crosses of the Israeli state that go too far.

Reading this book for the second time, years apart, and in the current political climate of self-interest over public interest, I find it helped me fill in the blanks on what is going on currently in the age of Trump and Obama. It is important to try to comprehend what is on the minds of our state actors, politicians, bureaucrats and the Deep State, for they do not necessarily have morals, but interests themselves.

But here is where we can make a critical comment: If state actors such as Jack Philby and Kim Philby and the Dulles brothers were driving the policy of acting against the Jews, then what role did the bureaucracy, the remainder of the leadership, have in the decisions and the execution of those decisions. I would think quite a bit, but the book does not focus as much on description of that. The authors hint at it, though. Authors Loftus and Aarons point out that while Loftus was in charge of prosecuting Nazi war criminals, the rest of government was helping them avoid justice and, instead, employing them.

It could be easily dismissed if a few bad actors in positions of authority were the driving force of the war against the Jews, but, it apparently was much larger and went much deeper. The authors apparently, even with the large tome of a book, were not able to flesh this out further. Nevermind, because what is given is a great deal of scholarship and understanding already.

Perhaps, some history students today will fill out the rest of the story tomorrow .

One of the best books on 20th Century history I have ever read. It explains a lot. The book has one serious weakness. The authors heavily rely on anonymous intelligence sources so some of the asserted facts cannot be taken with certainty. And even with respect to matters that should be part of the public record -- e.g. James Forrestal's service on the Board of Directors of I.G. Farben -- there is no footnote to any authority. Not that there are not a lot of footnotes to reputable sources in the book. Overall, everything in this book rings true and is consistent with known facts, even though some of the important facts cannot be verified.
