Review

Reviewed By Jennifer Ibiam for Readers' Favorite Five Star
"The book began on a calm note that eased me in, gathered momentum, and never stopped. The suspense and action kept my eyes glued to the pages. This book has a simple writing style, a unique plot, and an unpredictable storyline that heightened my expectations. I also loved the inclusion of humor, courtesy of Todd, Davis, and Alice. Why didn't I feel bad when they messed Chelsea up? This story deserves a series.

From the Author

Imagine being a ten year-old girl, stuck at home for almost two years without being able to leave the house. It would drive you and your parents crazy right? Well, we don't have to imagine, do we? COVID made this particular nightmare a reality for millions of families.
Even though we lived 350 miles away from each other, my granddaughter and I decided to take this time to write a novel. We spent an hour a week on a Zoom call outlining and drafting our ideas. Then we would write samples and edit each others work. Then we would discuss ideas about how to improve the story.  IJ is very creative, so my goal with this project was to motivate her to bring out her creative talent. I wanted this to be a fun experience that would stimulate her to become a writer. And I wanted to build the special bond that only comes from working together on a common goal.
This was a labor of love that took over 18 months to complete. We hit some dead ends, We ran into some dry patches. We had to throw big chunks in the shredder. But in the end, we produced a fun story that we are excited for you to read.
This first effort was more about me drafting and IJ editing. But now we have refined our process and she will take on more of the drafting, and I will edit the next book in the series. How many ten year olds can say they have a number 1 best selling book on Amazon!
Her excitement and passion has  ignited beyond my wildest dreams!  Wait until you see what happens in book two. The ideas are flowing, and the story is already progressing nicely.
If you thought mermaids and unicorns were pure fantasy, then come see the truth about these mythical creatures. They are all around us.

I’m reading the paperback version with my granddaughter. We’ve just started reading today and she didn’t want to put it down.
