From a retired judge's perspective.
I have read all of John Ellsworth's books. Even as a retired judge I find all of the legal wrangling interesting and sometimes amusing.
5.0 out of 5 stars John hits another one out of the park
From a prosecuting attorney's perspective.
John is simply put a great legal fiction writer. As a practicing prosecuting attorney for 35 years, I appreciate an author who knows the rules of court and what is and isn't allowed and follows those rules. Some authors tell great courtroom stories but their disregard of the rules of evidence and legal ethics detract from the stories as they are not realistic. John has the unique ability to craft clever and original plots but still follows legal rules of court. This is what sets him apart from many writers of courtroom fiction. I like his other series, and this one is just as well done as those.
From the Author
For thirty years John defended criminal clients across the United States. He has defended cases ranging from shoplifting to First Degree Murder to RICO to Tax Evasion, and has gone to jury trial on hundreds. His first book, The Defendants, was published in January, 2014. John is presently at work on his fifteenth legal thriller, which, it is hoped, will be published before June, 2016.
Reception to John's books has been phenomenal
More than 500,000 have been downloaded in 24 months. All are Amazon best-sellers.
John Ellsworth lives in Arizona. He has two dogs that ignore him and worship his wife. He predicts he will publish 4-6 books in 2016, including two in the Michael Gresham series, maybe three.
I have written all my adult life. Books come to me easily and quickly. I hope you enjoy my books, the characters, the storylines, the run-and-gun and courtroom challenges, as much as I have enjoyed writing them. Nothing in these books should ever be considered to be true. But judges and lawyers remark over and over how accurate these cases and trials always are.
