Review from B.McGrath5.0 Star ReviewThree great highlander romance series sure to spike your interest and keep your reading. I previously read these separately. and now I own the set! The mystery, passion, and action will keep you turning pages until the end!! Great main characters to root for, and evil villains to boo!!! The storylines are loaded with twist and turns, and the epilogue is sweet heat! Check it out. you won't be disappointed.
Review from Marilyn Smith5.0 Star ReviewI've read these individually but love that they are all together in a box set! Each book has its own storyline about a Scottish highlander that finds the woman meant for them. They usually find that the road to be together has obstacles but find their way together. The characters are developed and pull you into the story's. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Review from Joan Race5.0 Star ReviewBarbara Bard has put three of her fantastic highland romance books to make a great buy. I love all three books. of course who doesn't love those manly highlanders. About the author

Barbara Bard was born in the Highlands of Scotland but moved to the United States and was raised in the sweltering heat of New Orleans. She studied at Emory University in Atlanta and has worked as a journalist for a small press.
Barbara’s partner is descended from Scottish ancestors and she has been fascinated with all things Scottish for many years. That interest has also helped to propel a blossoming writing career and she is now working on novels with a historical Scottish romance flavor.
The first in her series follows the exploits of the Blair and McClair clans and is full of the type of brave warrior heroes that are romanticized of that era, while her books about the MacDougal clan have a more magic and paranormal feel to them.
When she isn’t working or writing her next book, Barbara enjoys yoga and traveling to new and exciting places. She loves nothing better than immersing herself in the culture of another country and getting to know some of the locals.
Barbara hopes that her novels will soon become self-sustaining and provide her with the full-time career she has always wanted.

You will certainly get your monies worth in this tale. As the story progressed, I regretted not keeping track how many times she was kidnapped - I'd say 5 and I am sure that is underestimated- lol. It got to be overkill for me. Granted made for a very suspenseful story.
You have so many villains that it is a wonder our H/h could get time for romance. As the story unfolds you have many to choose who killed the h's brother. You will use many emotions because people you start to care for are killed.
There is a lot of violence, betrayal, many exciting fight scenes and strong main and secondary character's. You will be certainly entertained!
We have lovemaking, outside of marriage, heat level 4 out of 5 if that and described only a few times and not long in description. I didn't find it erotic.
We have no cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and a tad of spice. We do get a short epilogue. But, if you want the EXTENDED EPILOGUE, you have to download it - WHICH I DISLIKE!!
2. HER HIGHLAND DEVIL - 2.5 STARS - ROUNDED UP TO 3 STARS
I was like the author decided to ruin her ending after setting up a terrific story. I am still dumbfounded over the turn of events which I will explain later.
There are editing problems - but not enough to make me scratch my head.
I didn't care for the h in the beginning. She was selfish and didn't even want to know the people in her village or where she lived.
It was confusing how they kept switching from calling his cousin to brother and vice versa. Then the H's father he was called by the cousin - father or uncle at times. This was very confusing. They were not brothers in the blood sense. I've read many Highland stories and this has never been done before.
The term okay was used and it wasn't a phrase until mid 1810, the series is set in 1718. WOW was used and I was surprised the term was somewhat used in the 1500's.
The H has a mistress who use to be best friends with his almost wife (deceased betroth). . Now he has no trouble bedding the mistress but he does his wife - he feels guilty. HELLO - you should feel more guilty taking her ex-betroths best friend to bed, not
your wife.
Now to the part that really ruined the story for me. SPOILER - SPOILER - After our H/h have fallen in love, there is betrayal and the H believes the h is guilty. The H is severely injured as she is taken back to England. She goes back home, not worrying if her husband is alive. She makes plans to marry a man she was to marry before the H takes her. HELLO - you are already married. Nothing was mentioned if the marriage in Scotland wasn't considered valid - maybe it wasn't but this was never discussed or explained to the reader. Totally ruined how easily they both forgot their feelings, especially the h.
END OF SPOILER
There is suspense, a couple fight scenes, romance builds slowly, tad of spice - heat level 3 out of 5, HEA, no cliffhanger and somewhat of adultery. After the H is married, he goes back to his mistress. Now they are in bed and his chest is bare so I am assuming they did the act - it is unclear. AGAIN HAVE TO DOWNLOAD EXTENDED EPILOGUE - YEK (ljb)
3. HER HIGHLAND PROTECTOR -2 STARS
I didn't feel a connection/chemistry with the H/h. She is a maid, a commoner and within a short period of time, is bossing people around. Plus add that she was arrogant so many times that I could not figure out why the H liked her.
The is a sick villain who has murder just under 20 people. Some of it described some not. So be warned this story is violent.
Another ridiculous part is a villain is trying to kill the h and has tried at least two times. What does this little maid do, she rides 20 leagues = 69 miles to a keep she's never been too, ALONE! Let alone just learned how to ride a horse.
The ending was ridiculous and we get an epilogue that was ok. You have to download the extended epilogue, which I've said many times, I dislike immensely. The extended epilogue takes place 6 months in the future. SPOILER - SPOILER SPOILER -
The h and her best friend are both pregnant and well with rounded bellies. The don't get married for 6 months - OMG - WHY? END OF SPOILER -- END OF SPOILER
There is a lot of lovemaking, outside of marriage, heat level 4.5 out of 5. Since I didn't care for them, it wasn't filled with passion, but lust.
No cheating for our H/h but is with a two side character's, no cliffhanger, HEA, I didn't feel there was romance, and steam and editing issues. (ljb)
Highlander's Honor
This is the story of Lady Catrin from England and the Scottish Laird Ranulf Thorburn. This book has it all. Action, suspense, danger, romance, kidnapping, drama, bravery, twists, and turns that will keep you turning pages from start to finish. It is fast paced, has fleshed out characters, a well constructed plot and very well written. Characters range from very honorable to just plain evil. Will England and Scotland go to war again? Will Catrin and Ranulf find out who murdered Catrin's brother? Get a copy as you won't want to miss this story. I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.
Her Highland Devil
Gabby is to marry her best friend, Ronnie. She doesn't want to but it is what her parents want. On her wedding day the Highlanders invade and kidnap Gabby. She is taken to Scotland to marry Callum before his birthday so he can be named Laird. The English call him the Devil. Callum hates the English but Gabby turns his head. This story has a mistress, a jealous brother, action, adventure, romance, integrity, excitement, and twists. Very well thought out and well written. Barbara has another winner with this book.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book and I also own a copy. I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.
Her Highland Protector
Intrigue, murder, suspense, action, danger, romance, and twists will keep you turning pages quickly from page one to the end. Plot is well thought out and well written. Characters are fleshed out. Will living in a Scottish castle keep Myra safe from the evil Earl? Get a copy of this book and come along on this wild ride and find out. I voluntarily received a copy of this book and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.
The stories are sometimes emotional whilst being action-packed adventures, which are full of twists and turns, drama, intrigue and suspense. I liked how the Scottish Highlands rugged scenery played such a strong part in the stories
Each book has it's own story, wonderful intriguing characters that pull you in and make you feel like you are right there with them. You will feel as tho you are in Scotland living along side in the lives of these great highland warriors as they each live out their trials, grief and love. I made an excellent choice when I chose this set of books, which will be read repeatedly. Too good to put away.
