Shirlee McCoy is the author of Secrets and Lies, the fifth book in the Rookie K-9 Unit continuity. The rookie this time is Tristan McKeller. Tristan is from Phoenix and struggling to take care of his teenage sister Mia (seventeen years younger than him) since his parents died. Ariel Martin is new in town, a divorcee/widow, Mia’s summer school teacher and about eight months pregnant. Someone makes three attempts on Ariel’s life in the same amounts of days and Tristan shows up just in time each time. Ariel doesn’t want to depend on Tristan because of how bad her marriage was but what are you going to do when the guy just keeps saving your life and treating you better than anyone ever has. This story is very fast paced and the main characters are very believable. In the story that flows through the continuity some major developments are made and some of it includes Tristan’s sister Mia. It is getting very interesting guys. This is one book you won’t want to miss.
Well written and accurate. I plan on buying them as they are released.
