I bought this book because my wife is Mormon, and I wanted to know more about what the church teaches. This is such a fair book about what they believe and what the Bible teaches. NOTHING is twisted! I looked up a few of the references given in Mormon doctrine and every one was spot on. This is truly an excellent book on only the facts. I am so glad I bought this book!

This it a very well organized collection of issues with the Mormon scriptures and faith. Every point brought up has references directly to the Mormon doctrine which it is rebuking. I have yet to find any errors or "lies". The book states things plain and simple and is straightforward. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good palliation of contradictions problems with the Mormon faith and to any Mormons who may not of even heard of many of these issues.

So I find a lot of angry Mormons saying that this book is a pack of lies so I would love clarification.

1. So God lives on the planet Kolob and has many wives having spiritual children? I've heard this more than once.

2.Satan and Jesus were spirit brothers? That's also what I've heard that's in your doctrine.. Prophet president Kimball teaches this.

3. Mormons believe in MANY Gods, not just one. Joseph Smith called it the "Council of Gods"

4. Mormons believe Jesus is the Savior ONLY because his plans were approved and Satan's plans were rejected.

5. In the Doctrines of Salvation, Vol 1 written by John Smith, spirit children born from God and his many spirits wives that are faithful to Jesus are born as babies with *white skin. The spirit children that "didn't" fight as valiantly during the battle in heaven were born with *black skin. This is from the Mormon Doctrine written by Bruce McConkie pp 526-527 in the 1966 edition.

6. Mormons believe they will become Gods through obedience to the laws of the Gospel and will get a planet of their own. Written in the Articles of Faith by Hames Talmage p430

7. Mormons have large families because they believe that where God resides there are many spirits waiting for human tabernacles.

8. In the Journal of Discourses you teach that Jesus had many wives. Vol 1 pg 345, Vol 2 pg 210

9. Joseph Smiths family was deeply involved in the occult which would explain his unexplained "knowledge." Demons can lie too and will come as Angels of light to distort the word of God.
John Smith was arrested in 1826 for "glass looking" claiming to be able to find buried treasure using his magic peepstone. Also when he was killed he was found carrying a Jupiter talisman.

This book verified some of the myths that I had heard as a kid about the Mormon religion. WOW! There are so many misguided people out there.

"Secrets Mormons Don't Want You To Know" was an easy read with over 162 facts written by Cindy Benson, a once-devout 6th generation Mormon, converted to Christiany. She gives her own testimony for leaving the Mormon religion and explains the secrets of the religion with cited texts from the "Book of Mormon, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Mormon Doctrine, Journal of Discourses, Discoveries of Brigham Young, History of the Church, The Seer,
Doctrines and Covenants, The Pearl of Great Price, History of the Church" and more. She gives exact citation.

Benson dsecribes her early childhood trained as a Mormon and being taught she could become a goddess on her own planet when she dies. She was taught that Jesus Christ was a polygamist and that we are the all spirit children of God and from one of his many wives. She says her homelife was ruined when her dad brought home a 15 year old girl and said that polygamy is required for salvation and he separated from her mother when she protested the additional marriage. She also writes about her admitance in the Salt Lake Temple to be baptized for the dead. (A Mormon teaching that gives dead people salvation into the celestial kingdom, the highest of their three heavens), she says in one day she was baptized for 20 dead people.

She also talks about her questioning the LDS church and it's truthfulness when her husband, who converted to Christianity brought to her attention the many failed prophecies of Joseph Smith how the Book of Mormon does not contain the major doctrines of the first Mormon church. She researched the above sources and found out that there have been almost 4,000 changes to the Book of Mormon since it first came out in 1830.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
