From the Author
Another fascination is the era of the 1960s. Although most might conjure the hippie settlements of California and Oregon, Arizona had its own hippie communities.
With The MacKenzie Chronicles, I took my interest of legendary mining communities and the 60ssubculture to create stories centered around the MacKenzies who live in the contemporary and purportedly haunted city of Joshua, Arizona--1800s mining town turned ghost town turned hippie community turned tourist town.
I hope you enjoy reading The MacKenzie Chronicles as much as I enjoy writing them.
From the Inside Flap
Without the keen eyes of several people, I'd never be able to get a book from my computer to out into the world. I rely heavily on my critique partners (in alphabetical order):Tamara Hogan, Joyce Proell, Heidi M. Thomas, and Jody Vitek. These women are all successful authors in their own right, but they give their time willingly and freely to read every paragraph before I go to print. They are such unique individuals that my books benefit from the spectrum of their knowledge and creativity.
This particular story had the benefit of beta readers. My thanks to Jean and Gary Keller. Their input helped smooth out a few wrinkles. And as always, thanks to FDW, my husband and partner in all things. He's read all of my books prior to publication.

I love mysteries with a touch of supernatural, so this story was right up my alley. I was so drawn into the plot, I took several breaks during the day to read more. The twists and turns just refused to let go.
But it wasn’t just the well written suspense that held my attention. The characters were so real, I felt like I knew them. And I totally identified with Magpie, as she fell in love with a hot man ten-years younger than her.
If you love a well written suspense with great characters and a richly drawn plot, you will love this story. I highly recommend Secrets of the Ravine!
When Zac Peartree walks into Magpie MacKenzie’s shop in Joshua, AZ, she is dumbstruck by how much he resembles her long lost love, who disappeared nearly three decades earlier. He even has some of the same mannerisms, expressions, and speech patterns. How can this be? What maybe frightens Magpie most, however, is the emotional pull she feels to Zac. Is it because he’s her old love come back? Or something else…? Joshua is a town known for its ghostly, paranormal activity, after all. Then, just as he arrives, bones are discovered in town, and they turn out to be… Well, you should definitely read Secrets of the Ravine and find out for yourself. You won’t regret it. I’ll bet that like me, you’ll be anxiously waiting for book 2 in the MacKenzie Chronicles series!
