I purchased this camera for the front of my house and have it hooked to my qnap. I'm really happy with the image quality and ease of setting this up. Once I set the camera up through qnap, I typed in the IP address of the camera and was taken to the site to configure the camera. I was able to easily configure the settings of the camera.

The housing is durable and all metal. The camera feels put together well and is better quality than cameras I've had in the past.

The night vision is incredible. I have a street light across the street from me which helps, but my front yard is still dark. The ir on this camera kicks on and illuminates my front yard. This creates a clear night vision image which covers the front of my house.

Overall, I've been so pleased with the camera that I just ordered a reolink rlc-411 for the back of my house. I needed a camera with zoom since I'll be mounting the camera on an eve near the top of my roof. When I get this camera and set it up, I'll review this model.

This review is for the RLC-410

The camera is pretty easy to setup when it works. The first one I got had a bad connector.

I was originally going to give 3 stars because the night time images are poor, but help support showed me how to get to the advanced menu and modify the settings so I was going to give 4 stars, and than realized I only paid $75 for this so I'm giving 5 stars. I'm also buying another one, these things are so cheap and versatile you can cover your house in them.

RLC-422 review:

I bought the RLC-422 later, after I had bough 2 of the RLC-410s. The 422 is more aesthetically pleasing, as it is installed at the front of the house and supports variable optical zoom which is useful since its getting mounted really high (20 ft up and 25 ft away from the street). I'm not as happy with this camera as the RLC-410. I think the focusing is an issue with this one, I've fiddled with it but it doesn't seem focused, the grass and edges of items all seem grainy in the video. I'll keep playing around with it. The night time video is decent, I guess due to all the LEDs built into it. Installation is really easy, just plug and play. The web interface is good. I didn't know this model doesn't have a microphone unlike the other models but that's OK.

With this purchase, I now have 4 of these little inexpensive Reolink Cameras. I bought numerous types of cheap cameras to compare them and I liked the Reolink cameras so much I bought 3 more.I found that the picture quality during the day was much better than many of the more expensive cameras. The night vision is only adequate, good enough for my purposes, but far from amazing therefore 4 stars. For the price, these are amazing cameras.

My setup is as follows. 4 Reolink cameras wired to a Poe injector to my 24 port switch. I ran one cat5e line from the switch to my wireless router. I bought the cheapest i7 desktop I could find and installed BlueIris. ***I turned OFF encoding in the BlueIris software since the cameras already to that(decreasing CPU usage drastically). With 6 IP cameras recording at the same time, triggers going off, and three remote users logged on at the same time, I am not going over 25% CPU.

So, I must admit, I had very low expectations, based on previous experiences with other makes, that this camera would satisfy my needs. I have a personal weather station (PWS) up on my roof and wanted to add two of these cameras to my PWS. The main reasons I decided to buy these cameras were that (a) they had excellent write ups and (b) you could upload images to an FTP server (in my case, I wanted to upload images to Weather Underground). Two cameras bought, installed with CAT6 ethernet cable, connected to a Netgear Extender and I was in business. Now here is what will save you a LOT OF FRUSTRATION: Make sure you have EXCELLENT bandwidth if you decide to set up a camera linked to an extender. My two RLC-410's were up on the roof, connected to a Netgear Extender via CAT6 cable and the extender is connected to my router downstairs. IF the bandwidth between your router and extender is poor, i.e. < 25Mb/s you can forget about a decent picture since you need to have a good wifi connection between router and wifi extenders ( I solved this issue by getting a Netgear Orbi). So to recap, my cameras are on top of the roof, extender in the garage, and main router is on the first level (garage is on level 2). I have 100% PERFECT streaming of my cameras to my NVR which is next to the router. You do NOT need the NVR, however, if you take your laptop to the office like me, the cameras will NOT record anything unless you manually "push" the command to manually record a picture or video, which it will do to your laptop OR mobile device. (trust me, GET the NVR). So, the clarity of your feed is all dependent on your bandwidth speed. Before I got my NetGear Orbi, I had hassles with picture Quality. This has NOTHING to do with Reolink. Their products produce exactly as expected. It is all about HOW you connect them up to your network. And just an FYI: You do not have to plug these cameras directly into the back of the NVR - AS LONG AS THE CAMERAS ARE ON THE SAME NETWORK.

My current cameras have worked flawlessly since I bought them a few months back. I just ordered a few more cameras to dd to my "weather" network and my "security" network. Trust me. A+.

I purchased this camera and placed it on my back porch. The picture/video it produces both during the day and at night are great. The resolution is better than the 1080p Foscams I also use. But I use them as they have a wider field of view. It's connected to a Synology unit that I can check from work and watch the recordings for the previous evening. At night the camera works good out to about 30-40'. I used the inline POE pigtails and just run one network drop per camera and connected a multi cctv power adapter to power all of my cameras, the router and modem. I did have to use a different ONVIF port than the default 8000. It would not stay connected to my Synology unit, once I changed it works fine now.

Just an FYI: update your firmware to the latest if you are running into strange issues, after I did this many issues that I had with this camera disappeared. Also disable 3D-NR under advanced video settings for a clearer image.

I really like this camera for a variety of reasons. The provided software client works really well with the camera and is easy to setup. The image quality is fantastic and the camera has incredible night vision. The PoE works fine with the TP-Link POE injector I purchased and powers the camera fine. The camera is built very well and has stood up to several rain and snow storms already. BlueIris works 100% with this camera! I was also impressed by the audio quality captured by the built in mic.

Two issues I have with this camera involve 3rd party software. iSpy can only record at 10fps compared to the 25fps by the ReoLink/BlueIris software no matter what I tweak in the settings which is slightly frustrating. I also cannot get TinyCam Pro to remotely connect to my camera without dropping a majority of frames.

Overall I would give this camera four stars, and if the iSpy and TinyCam issues are resolved it is easily five stars. I'd love to try the wireless version of this camera next to help with an easier installation.

I have had this camera for about two months and so far it has performed great. The audio recording works well with the Reolink client (haven't tried with other softwares) and the Onvif integration is spot on.

I have tried this camera with the following software:
Sighthound (Still using this software (paid license), mobile app works well also, they offer a free trial for testing)
DW Spectrum IPVMS (Works, trial, expensive for licenses)
Zoneminder (free, works ok, but a pain to setup and the interface isn't that great)
OpenCVR (free, worked, but the database kept crashing on me)
Blue Iris (worked, but I just didn't like the software)

I was Security Engineer (2 years) at another IP camera company and these cameras work a bit better than that companies cameras at a fraction of the cost. For a similarly specked camera the average cost was over $700.

There really aren't many cons to this camera that I have found so far. The web ui only using IE is a pain as I use chrome as my primary browser. I worked around this by writing my own code to grab the cgi-snapshot in an image tag to bypass having to use the reolink. Sighthounds web interface is quick to connect remotely as well as the mobile app.

posted this on the Reolink forum (had to post in a zip file):

(...)

You will need to run this in a webserver if you are wanting to you use this remotely, but for testing you can use this on your local lan to make sure it works for you.

This code pulls the cgi-bin snapshot and uses some javascript to set a math rand with an interval of two seconds. I would not recommend anything less than 2 seconds as the image doesn't have enough time to reload prior to being refreshed.

The rand is there so that the browser does not attempt to pull the snapshot from cache. I know this works in Chrome and I haven't tested in any other browsers.

I have attached the source code as a file. You will need to edit your IP address, username and password.

Hope this helps.

var myImageElement = document.getElementById('myImage');
myImageElement.src = 'http://192.168.0.101/cgi-bin/snap.cgi?user=admin&password?rand=' + Math.random();
}, 2000);
</script>
<img src="http://192.168.0.101/cgi-bin/snap.cgi?user=admin&password=" width="1068" height= "601" name="Drivewaycam" id="myImage">

Over all the camera has been good and I will be buying another one of these soon.

Great camera for the price, extremely easy to install and setup.

The build quality of the camera exceeded my expectations, it's very solid and feels like a product that would cost twice or three times as much as it does.

Bought two of these camera, connected to two TP-LINK POE150S injectors to power the camera without issues, base is plastic, but trust me it will never fall off your wall.

Night vision is amazing, a lot better than the other camera I currently own.

Camera quality is also good for it's price, other 1080p cameras that I currently have, out perform in picture quality by a lot in terms of color accuracy, but they're also twice the price and size of the RLC-410.

Currently, I am recording with Synology Surveillance station, connects to these cameras via ONVIF, just type in the IP of the camera and it just connects without issues.

The only gripe I have is stuttering of the camera, when viewing the recording, with my setup. It seems to stutter ever few seconds. Could be my own setup which is the issue, but other people seem to be having the same problem with maximum settings. It doesn't really effect the cameras capabilities though. This is the only reason I'm deducting one star.

Customer service is amazing, getting back to you within a few hours!

Overall, I would recommend this camera to everyone that is considering getting one. Will be purchasing a few more later in the year to replace my old standard non-IP cameras.

 I have 5 of these and they work great. The night vision is clear and day time picture is excellent as well.
Below are stills I've gotten out of Milestone (the NVR I'm using) and night time video of some pesky front yard intruders!

If using a 3rd party NVR like LaView, you must first log in directly to the camera (by hooking it up directly to your router and powering it up from a separate power source) and change the IP address to the IP address range that your NVR will assign. Then disconnect the camera from your router and plug it in to your NVR.

Furthermore, although this camera is ONVIF compliant, it does not mean that motion detection will work with your 3rd party NVR.
