The book starts out with a bunch unnecessary sex scenes between the guy and women he doesn't love. One would have been enough to establish that he's the kind of guy who sleeps with a woman without knowing her name. The rest are just an excuse to put sex in the book and they are boring.
And then a woman comes along with whom he truly falls in love - except that there is nothing interesting about her that would explain why he instantly fell for her. The dialog is flat and he barely knows her before he is completely in love. It reads like the author just decided that the big love interest should come along so she is plopped down in the middle of the book and declared her to be fascinating. And does a slow chase and seduction follow to show us how he grows to want her? Nope, he's in bed with her in no time and the sex is just boring and no different from the previous scenes with other random women.
I'm adding this to my "do not finish list." I understand that there's some big tragedy that redeems him by the end, but frankly I don't care enough for him to see if he gets redeem or not and I care even less for his generic 'fascinating' love interest. Don't waste your money.
I thought it was going to be another book about a rich and handsome bad boy, who beds a different woman every night.
It started off that way.
Jack is portrayed as a pretty shallow womanizer.
I had a tough time liking him because I just found him to be sleezy.
Enter Belle, and that's when I started to see this man in a different light.
He began to have depth.
He was actually capable of loving a woman and even though she's quite young, she seems to be his match.
When his childhood is revealed and we learn Jack is still deeply affected by his mother abandoning him and his brother, I could not help completely falling for this character. His heartache is deeply moving.
There is a huge WTF moment towards the end.
My heart actually hurts so bad.
I was not prepared for this!!!
Great story, hot steamy sex, gorgeous alpha male, and definitely enough heart break material in this one!
Jack Falcon has been a playboy for years never sleeping with the same woman more than once. At a glance, he seems to have it all- great looks, loads of charm and money, but he is not what he seems. He was abandoned by his mother and left with his abusive father. Because of this, he is afraid to allow himself to feel anything. That all changes when Belle enters his life. She makes him feel things that he has never felt before. When Jack finally seems ready to admit his love for Belle, tragedy strikes.
This book really shocked me. I can usually envision how a story will end, but this one blew my mind. I fell in love with both Jack and Belle, so I was very disappointed by the way their story ended. Had it not been for the ending, I would gladly have given this book a 5 star rating. With that said, I will admit that I enjoyed this author's style of writing, and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
