Lucas has his own white hackers business that is booming and is in the process of being merged with his baby sister's fiance's father's company. So he hired a butler to help him with his household and all things he needs done.
After a chance encounter and a misunderstanding, where Emmaline thinks Lucas has no idea who she is, starts to work for Lucas. After a few months, the truth comes out. Emmaline is hiding from her past life, and has so many walls up, that she does not want to let anyone in. She just wants to have a physical relationship with Lucas, even if it is in the handbook to not do so with your boss. But these two have such amazing chemistry, it is hard for them stay away from each other.
There are some great secondary characters, such as Stella, Valerie(whom I did not like at first, but loved her by the end), and of course Sara and Charlie.
Emmaline is running from her father and her ex-fiance, and away from her previous life. She still carries a lot of baggage from 5 years prior. Is she able to let it all go and truly believe she needs the love of Lucas?
Lucas knows Emmaline is his. He helps her with her past to ensure she will be safe, but is it enough to convince her that he is there for her always and will always have her back? Will it be enough to have her trust him?
These two were amazing to read. I really enjoyed the pull and push they had going on. Plus seeing a bit into the past of Emmaline and how come she is the way she is. Lucas is a successful, handsome, and very thoughtful guy and makes sure his sister is well taken care of after their parents death when she was young. Loved their story, Can't wait now for Charlie's!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book about a female butler and her billionaire employer. Emmaline Rossi is a butler who is hired to work for Lucas Cully, a wealthy tech exec.
Lucas’ parents had died when he was younger, and he had to finish raising his much younger sister. She is now getting married and having a huge wedding. Lucas needed someone to help him plan this wedding and, therefore, he hired Emmaline.
Of course, Emmaline and Lucas fall in love. Emmaline becomes aware of her feelings early in her story, but is aware that it is unethical to fall in love with her employer. It takes Lucas longer to realize his feelings, but he, too, is aware of the problem of being with his employee.
This title erroneously implies that this is an erotic story. However, this is not true. Instead, this a beautiful, contemporary romance with characters so likeable that it is very easy to root for their happy ending.
This is the fifth book in The Billionaire’s Beach series but easily can be read as a stand-alone book. I know that, first-hand, because I have not read the first four books. However, I do wish I had first read the fourth book, The Scandal. because that is the story of one of Emmaline’s friends. Sara Smythe is a butler who went to school with Emmaline.
This lack slowed me down a little at the beginning because Sara and her fiancé are part of this book. However, once I got into the book, this was no longer a problem. However, I plan to read that book next.
I highly recommend this book.
