Standalone though part of a larger series
Told from both POVs
Only minor editing errors
So far this book is my favorite in the series. This is actually the second time I have read it. The first I didn't understand the importance of writing reviews.
This is an amazing series and the first 3 books are great but they focus on the more taboo types of relationships. This one is about an everyday type couple who are also a little curious. There are definitely taboo moments in the book but this one still felt the most real to me.
Ashleigh is a sweet southern belle who is still a virgin at 30. Alex is the bad boy with a heart of gold who has always had a thing for Ashleigh but has never acted on it due to their age difference. (12 years). Doesn't seem like a big deal now that she is 30 but when she was 17 and he was 29 it is a much bigger deal so he stayed away.
It isn't insta love which makes me happy. They definitely have insta chemistry but the love builds over time. They have their fair share of bumps to get over, including but not limited to Alex's ex wife.
Through it all their love story is a classic and I'm so glad they got their HEA!
Can't wait for the next book.
One of the things I really liked about his book was the firm stance the hero and heroine had against "sharing", so to speak. I'm not saying I'm against the relationships in the first two books. It would have just seemed weird if every couple in these books ended up having the same kinks. The point of reading such books is to vicariously experience different lifestyles.
I also enjoyed the slower burn of the Alex/Ashleigh relationship. I'm not meaning the many years they've known and pined for each other. I mean from when they actually decide to get together and their relationship developments from there.
I've already read the first couple of books of the Alluring Indulgence series before realizing these books all kind of overlap, so I'm going to reread Kaleb before moving onto the next in the Club Destiny series per the order of release on the author's website.
Alex has been pining for Ashleigh since he first laid eyes on her when she was just seventeen to his thirty. Obviously knowing she was too young for him, he's always tried to move on but his feeling always came back to Ashleigh. Being a friend of the family, he's been able to keep an eye on her as she got older. Little did he know though that she's been wanting to be with him for just as long. Age difference matters not...it's always about how one feels for another that matters.
Ashleigh is now twenty-eight and a successful author of both children stories and erotica. Though not everyone knows her pen name, Ashton Leigh for her erotica stories, all her closest friends do...and boy are those friends close!
Let's just say 'Truth or Dare' will never be the same again.
This book leaned more toward the traditional love story type. Or maybe just more traditional than I've been reading lately, lol.
Regardless of some slight voyeurism, Seduction really was just based on the love between Alex and Ashleigh, and the daily obstacles they've had to overcome...like her being a virgin, his ex-wife craziness, thoughts of wanting to venture more in-depth with Club Destiny. Ya know, the norms ;)
Very cute story. Ashleigh and Alex were quite literally meant for one another and it was fun to watch them grow together.
Ms. Edwards has an excellent free-flowing writing style and tells each story in a compelling manner and, in the way that SOAPS maintain your interest, the reader cares for and becomes connected to each set of lovers. One wants them to be happy and to work through any differences. These are romances rather than adventures or scary stories, so rather than being unable to sleep because you're not sure who's going to survive, you cannot sleep because the sex scenes and kisses are so hot that you find yourself all worked up.
If you love romance, handsome men, beautiful women, hot hormones, good cultural relationships and just plain good writing then these are for you. You don't have to read them all in sequence but they are better that way and help you relate to each set of lovers more fully. Than k you, Ms Edwards ... I downright freaking LOVE these books!
