I'd give it 0 stars if I could.
Why do some women think that having a man basically force/ blackmail/ coerce a woman to have sex is romantic and hot? That's a serious question, BTW. I am genuinely stumped.
Basically, our h is a chef and restaurant-owner and our H owns the building her resto is in. He wants to shut the whole thing down, but hey! If Emma has sex with Quinn, she gets to keep her business. The one that she built up for years and invested in heavily, both financially and emotionally. She can keep it, he says! But only if she opens her legs.
She does, of course, and she loves it, naturally, because he's just sooooooo damn HOT, and then it turns out our a-hole H was a big, fat liar all along (no big shock), but she forgives him, of course, because she's a doormat, and that's supposed to be a HEA.
All in all I liked the story although the alpha male thing went a little too far. No matter what, he would not take no for an answer. That was a turn off.
The description of the book says there is an HEA. This not the case. Yes, they got back together but the saboteur is not known. Semi cliffhanger.
I will not read the continuation.
This is not a love story but hot, raw, sex, even to the introduction of S&M.style sex. This book is an outrage to women everywhere. Instead of Emma bringing Quinn up to her standards, she sinks to his. The language is nasty and the sex scenes, disgusting. It's actually written porn. Sadly, the author can't seem to find any sort of balance whereby actual human emotion guides the story. It's just sex, sex, and more sex without committment. I have a hard time believing the author is a woman.

I thought the book was good. Though not the best I've read. I hate how the ending just dropped off like it did even though there is a second book. It just felt like a dead end. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Whitney Jo
