One day after a prominent U.S. Muslim leader reacted to the November 2015 Paris attacks with a declaration that the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, has nothing to do with Islam, President Obama made the same assertion. Who exactly is the enemy we face, not only in the Middle East but also within our borders? Is it "murderers without a coherent creed" or "nihilistic killers who want to tear things down," as some described ISIS after 130 people were brutally slain and another 368 injured in a coordinated attack on Western soil that authorities say was organized with help from inside France's Muslim communities.

After the Paris attacks, Obama, himself, described ISIS as "simply a network of killers who are brutalizing local populations." But how much do words and definitions really matter? According to the legendary military strategist Sun Tzu, if "you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one (battle) and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle."

When the Department of Homeland Security was founded in 2003, its stated purpose was "preventing terrorist attacks within the United States and reducing America's vulnerability to terrorism." The Bush administration's definition of the enemy as a tactic, terrorism, rather than a specific movement, proved consequential amid a culture of political correctness. By the time President Obama took office, Muslim Brotherhood-linked leaders in the United States were forcing changes to national security policy and even being invited into the highest chambers of influence. A policy known as Countering Violent Extremism emerged, downplaying the threat of supremacist Islam as unrelated to the religion and just one among many violent ideological movements.

When recently retired DHS frontline officer and intelligence expert Philip Haney bravely tried to say something about the people and organizations that threatened the nation, his intelligence information was eliminated, and he was investigated by the very agency assigned to protect the country. The national campaign by the DHS to raise public awareness of terrorism and terrorism-related crime known as If You See Something, Say Something effectively has become If You See Something, Say Nothing.

In SEE SOMETHING, SAY NOTHING, Haney – a charter member of DHS with previous experience in the Middle East – and co-author Art Moore expose just how deeply the submission, denial and deception run. Haney's insider, eyewitness account, supported by internal memos and documents, exposes a federal government capitulating to an enemy within and punishing those who reject its narrative.

Haney discloses:
How the Bush administration stripped him and other frontline officers of their ability to define the threat;
How much the Obama administration knew in advance of the Boston Marathon bombing and how it launched an ongoing cover-up on behalf of a major ally;
The administration’s stealth policy to protect Islamic leaders with supremacist beliefs and violent-jihadist ties, allowing them to freely travel between the U.S. and the Middle East;
The scope of access to the White House and the classified information the Obama administration gave to members of Muslim Brotherhood front groups;
The damning intelligence on Muslim Brotherhood-linked leaders invited to sit at the table and help form national-security policy;
The "words matter" memo imposing the demands of radical U.S. Muslims leaders on the DHS, including stripping intelligence and official communications of any mention of Islam in association with terrorism;
The purging of training material that casts Islam in a negative light;
The erasing and altering of vital intelligence on terrorists and terror threats;
The fear-based tactics imposed by the Muslim Brotherhood front groups in the U.S. and their accomplices that paralyze officials, members of Congress and any Department of Homeland Security employee who dares to expose or resist their agenda; and
Much more …

In this well-documented, first-person account of his unique service with DHS, Haney shows why it's imperative that Americans demand that when they see something and say something, the servants under their charge do something to prevent a cunning, relentless enemy from carrying out its stated aim to "destroy Western Civilization from within."

Review

"Every generation bears witness to the rise of a few great men – individuals who elevate duty, honor and country above self-interest. Philip Haney is clearly one of them. His fellow agents who warned him to watch his back should have provided him with the extra assurance that they had his covered. See Seomthing, Say Nothing serves as a wake-up call for all concerned Americans and a catalyst to inspire others, in positions of authority to defy the norm by coming forward in defense of our beloved Republic." — Jeffrey M. Epstein, founder and President of America's Truth Forum

"hil Haney is a modern-day hero who did all within his power to protect America from the internal and external threats from jihad. His experience in the Middle East, coupled with years of study and experience, provided him an intellectual acumen for critical analysis that was invaluable in securing our homeland. Unfortunately, the Obama White House and its Department of Homeland Security did not see it that way. They did not want exposed their intricate ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and other radical Islamic groups they call their "outreach partners."

Phil Haney is a professional. I have come to appreciate his deep devotion to this country and his amazing scientific mind. This book is a chronicle of Phil’s experience that Americans need to read before seeing one more fictional television series or movie. This is as real as it gets from an honorable, truthful patriot and should scare the patriotism back into anyone who has a shortage." — US Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-TX

I’ve wanted to read this book since it came out. Put it in the cart and was sold out before purchased. Later again after Haneys death couldn’t find it but audio book and bought it but didn’t listen more than a few pages. This time I ordered a hardcover version, when I opened it was actually signed by Philip Haney! Wow what a surprise. Thankyou. Worth the wait.

    How long would a people be content to suffer outrageous violations by their rulers before they do something about it? And if they are so moved to take action, what would they do? Thomas Jefferson pursued that line of reasoning 240 years ago when, in the summer of 1776, he penned these words:
    Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.
    The student of American history will recognize this as part of Jefferson’s reasoning in the Declaration of Independence. That was 240 years ago. What application, if any, does it have to Americans in the 21st century? Such a consideration requires some thought as to how the people should respond to a government that appears no longer to be acting in their best interests.
    How do we know the United States Government is not acting in the best interests of the people? That is the testimony of Philip Haney, a recently retired Federal law enforcement officer of Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a division of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Haney’s memoir, See Something, Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government’s Submission to Jihad, charts the tumultuous ordeal he endured for simply doing his job.
    One might expect that an Arabic linguist and professional with decades of experience living among and working with Muslims in the Middle East would be highly capable at recognizing threats posed by radical Islam. One might also expect that the word of such a consummate professional would be taken seriously by law enforcement, intelligence, and diplomatic agencies charged with protecting the United States from such threats. Sadly, this was not always so in Haney’s case. From the moment of his affiliation with DHS at its establishment in 2003, Haney conscientiously applied his knowledge, skills, and experience to the task of identifying Islamist threats to this nation and its allies. His work received considerable praise from superiors and colleagues both within his own agency and other organizations. Haney’s ability to “connect the dots” of terrorist networks and those associated with them was so highly valued that he even received international recognition.
    With such credentials one might expect that Philip Haney would be considered a national treasure of sorts, trustworthy to hold a position of great responsibility in the highest levels of DHS. But that is where the expectations run into the harsh reality of contemporary political correctness. Haney began to meet resistance as he charted the agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood, noting its unmistakable goal of expanding the realm of Islam at the expense of Western democracies and all others in its path, and its connection with terrorist networks like Al Qaida and the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). That resistance progressed to censorship when the dots he connected revealed a path to Muslim organizations within the United States, such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR. When he refused to back down, Haney became the subject of numerous investigations and career-damaging personnel actions, including a criminal investigation, all designed to keep him from fulfilling his oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies foreign and domestic.
    It is a testimony to Haney’s character and patriotism that he continued to do his duty as faithfully as his circumstances would allow, believing that at some point someone with common sense would awaken to the existential threat insidiously at work within this nation. Regrettably, it was not to be. Soon after his retirement, he came to this heartbreaking conclusion:
    [As] a CBP officer, I targeted the Muslim Brotherhood for nearly ten years, trying to warn DHS management and members of Congress that it was a dangerous movement, while the administration was supporting the Brotherhood at home and arming them in the Middle East.
    Philip Haney, See Something, Say Nothing
    Can this possibly be true? Are we to take Philip Haney at his word? As his friend and a fellow intelligence professional, I assure you the answer to both questions is yes. My career spanned three decades in the US Army and Federal Intelligence Community. It was in 2011, near the end of my career, that I had the great pleasure of meeting Philip and hearing his story. Over the next four years I observed as he endured the worst of his ordeal. All I could offer him at that time was a listening ear and a bit of counsel at how to handle the assaults thrown at him from those who should have been his greatest defenders. Now that he is able to tell his story, it is my honor and duty to alert the public to this shocking insider account.
    What are we to do with this revelation? Much of that is yet to be seen. In this election year of 2016, there is perhaps a chance that an alerted American public may take action to restore genuine accountability to the government at all levels. My friend Philip Haney endured a tremendous ordeal to bring this word to the people of his nation. If that word translates into responsible action by an educated and concerned citizenry, then he would be the first to say that his sacrifices were but a small price to pay.

    Phillip Heaney, the primary author, relates and documents a chilling story that indicates that the United States is In DEEP dodo….perhaps over its/our head(s), and beyond the point of no return. I can summarize the book very quickly. Mr. Heaney details how our own government, the Department of Homeland security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Central Intelligence Agency, etc., not to mention the entire Obama administration including the State Department, are walking in lockstep with the American Civil Liberties Union (a Muslim sympathizer and supporter), Muslim Brotherhood, Council on Islamic-American Relations, Muslim Students Association, Tablighi Jamsst, Holy Land Foundation, and many, many other organizations and individuals that are known terrorists, terrorist supporters, or who have proven connections with terrorist organizations like al-Qaeda, ISIS, Hamas, and Hezbollah, in aiding and abetting the progression and spread of, Islam, Sharia law, Islamic extremism, terrorists, and terrorism throughout the United States and the rest for the western world.

    Our President and fellow Americans have made fear of offending Muslims and protecting the Civil Rights of Muslims, whether they a American citizens or non-citizens, a higher priority than the safety and security of the United States, its citizens, and our eastern allies, specifically Israel. Through nothing short of Obama directed or sanctioned treasonous actions, that have been going on for years, they have jeopardized the safety and security of every United States citizen and it may be too late to stop it. Though the Department of Homeland Security stresses the motto “see Something, Say Something” they either ignore that “something” or they punish the individual who said it.

    The only criticism I have of the book is the overuse of acronyms. Pages VIII and IX are acronyms used in the book and their definitions. The reader needs to either memorize these definitions or tag these pages for quick and easy future reference because they are arguably the most important pages of the book and without them the book could not be decoded. I only wish the writers would have spelled out the name of each agency or person, and banned the use of acronyms with the same assiduousness that our government bans the collection of data on suspected terrorists and orders the destruction of existing data. Yes they are, and this book proves it. Other than that, the book is well written and an easy albeit troubling read. I highly recommend that everyone read it.

    This book really is an eye-opener about how the higher-up political leaders who are elected up into power uphold the constitution of America and keep the citizens safe. Have no time for ordinary people working on the ground and know the danger of political and radical Islam to America and its freedoms. If anything political correctness has under-minded the security of America and the rest of the world. Indeed from reading this book it's a wonder that there has not been another major terrorist attack in America again.

    I just finished reading Phil Haney's compelling story, See Something Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government's Submission to Jihad. The author epitomizes the man who swears to his own hurt and does not change, taking his oath and pledge to his country's service with the utmost seriousness, despite the personal cost suffered.

    Writing from the inside of the Department of Homeland Security, established in the aftermath of 9/11, Haney documents the successful intelligence measures that were being created to identify and track potential and actual terrorist threats seeking entry and within the US, and the results that were being achieved, only to be required to destroy his own work by the very government he and his colleagues were enlisted to serve.

    Meticulously documented, See Something Say Nothing reveals the tragic shift away from the original law enforcement mandate of Homeland Security to protect America from terrorist threats, to its current focus on Countering Violent Extremism that has shackled the security and law enforcement services to an agenda of "civil rights protection.

    And the Islamic terrorists have taken full advantage. This reorientation has facilitated the many legal challenges which Islamic terrorist front organizations have used to neuter the security apparatus of the US. This is exactly the same process that Melanie Philips documents in her book, Londonistan, regarding her homeland, England, which has forced her nation "on its knees before Islamic terror".

    This book is a clarion call to see and understand why terrorism has reached the unnecessary and tragic levels that it has in America, and also shows what is possible, documenting the success that law enforcement was achieving in protecting Americans before their work was dismantled by the political administration.

    Read it...then contact your congressional representatives.

    This book is not brilliantly written, it is not a work of art. It is an honest portrayal of the integrity of one man- among many- simply trying to do the job he was paid to do by those who covertly supported the very people it was and is their duty to protect the public from. The United States of America is in serious trouble when lies and obfuscation replace honesty and accountability. If a government is willing to conspire against one of its own who will be next?
