Seeeduino XIAO Hardware Pinout
Seeeduino XIAO main features
[Multiple development interfaces]
11 digital/analog pins, 10 PWM Pins, 1 DAC output, 1 SWD Bonding pad interface, 1 I2C interface, 1 UART interface, 1 SPI interface.
[14 GPIO PINs]
The Seeeduino XIAO microcontroller has 14 GPIO PINs, 11 of which can be used as digital input/output or analog input.
Some of these pins have multiple functions. For example, pins A1/ D1 to A10/D10 can be used for PWM output,
and pins A0/D0 can be used as DAC output. In addition, there are pins that can be used as interfaces such as I2C, UART, and SPI.
Attention:All the I/O pins are 3.3V, please do not input more than 3.3V, otherwise, the CPU may be damaged.
[USB Type-C interface]
The Seeeduino XIAO development board supplies power from the USB Type-C interface and writes sketches to the microcomputer board. Type-C is a more robust interface than Micro USB.
There is also a power pad on the bottom of the Seeeduino XIAO that allows you to connect a battery.
Seeeduino XIAO has not only power LED but also user LED, so you can enjoy Blinky immediately. It also has a 32.768kHz crystal for the built-in RTC.

I had to do some shopping for libraries to use to get everything working but I think most of that was just inexperience on my part.
The project pictured above is a four MQ sensor gas sniffer with an OLED display powered by a 5V USB C power brick. The 5V is used to power the sensors and a small fan that pulls air through while the MPU operates on 3.3V.
I bought a second set of three of these, the expansion board, and a handful of grove connector cables. I honestly don't know if I will use the expansion board since I have had little trouble experimenting with these with a few I2C devices. The expansion board has a debug interface that might make it useful one day for me.
If one does not need the wifi or BLE of an ESP32/8266 then I would recommend this microcontroller. I used YouTube for all of my initial research and the manufacturer's web site and forums afterward. I develop with PlatformIO, but was also able to program using the Arduino IDE.

The bad is their damn Bootloader... It is a hit and miss situation, you will have to tap the reset soldering pads over and over to get it to enter on bootloader mode and even after that 50% of the time the Arduino IDE will fail to load the sketch, this is a common problem and one that has been present on the design of the XIAO for a couple of years.
If you are patient and lucky this is a great microcontroller for prototypes... Unfortunately sometimes you can not design a prototype PCB around a component that maybe will work immediately or have to fiddle with it for 40 minutes everytime that you modify the software.

Surprisingly, although this development board is small, it has a large capacity and rich interfaces. Also the size provides enough to be used in a complete PCB project.

The only downside is my soldering skills are rough. But practice is great.
