This is a series of stand alone books with each featuring the romance of one family member, although the whole family appears in each book. They can be read independently, but IMO it is best to read them in order.
Sexual situations may offend some readers
On the plus side, this is book 2 in this series and I have not read the first one. The author did a decent job of making the many characters of the two families distinctive enough that I didn't have difficulty keeping them straight.
Bottom line: I did finish it but it was only through effort of personal will, not enjoyment.
But, forgetting these points, I did enjoy the story line. The h's brother really didn't add much to the story and thought his change of heart was unrealistic. The "talents" of the siblings is a unique part of this story.
There is lovemaking outside of marriage and no care or mention of the worrying of pregnancy. Heat level maybe 4 out of 5.
Some edit problems, but not major for me. There is no cliffhanger and we do get HEA. I am not going into the premise, as many have explained it in more detail than the blurb from the publisher. I would be interested in reading book 3 of the series, but it is priced to high and will wait to see if goes on sale. (ljb)
Miss Lilliana Braithwaite wears an annoying disguise when in society to keep others at bay. She works alone and in secret. Even her uncaring brother has no knowledge of her activities, and that's exactly the way she likes it.
What happens when these two opposites cross paths is the basis of the entertaining novel, Seeing Danger by Wendy Vella. As part of the Honor and Protect series, this enjoyable novel is a stand-alone story, with cross-over characters within the series. All of the characters are well developed and likable. The pace of the plot is steady, the writing flows well and is descriptive. The character interactions and dialogue are both edgy and humorous. I really like all the Raven and Sinclair family members, and the chemistry between Lilli and Dev is sizzling.
All in all this is a 5 stars read. That said, I am only giving it 4 stars. Not because of a couple of mildly descriptive sex scenes, but because of the religious expletives that were used excessively and unnecessarily.
