Together these four bears, who would never have met had they not been brought together by destiny, go on a quest that they only learn the meaning of in Book 5 (Fire in the Sky).
These bears are devoted to each other and to their mission, despite grave doubts along the way, and indescribable physical hardships. Book Six takes place exclusively in the Arctic, a far, far cry from the forests and woodlands that are naturally home to Toklo and Lusa. We learn of their exquisite homesickness, and yet we marvel at their determination to stand by one another to do what fate has called them to do - a task so monumental that no human can achieve it. No human would even dare.
This book begins slowly but builds to a very fast pace and the adventure is gripping and nail-biting. The end is bittersweet on many levels.
What worries me is that, having finished the book, I saw no indication in the end pages that there would be another series.
Erin Hunter created the Warrior series, which is now on its fourth set of six books. I can't believe that Seekers will stop here. This series is too good to stop now. And like my title says, I will miss these bears profoundly if I can't read about them again.
I read the books in hard copy but I am ordering them now for my Kindle, as I plan to reread the series. It's that good.
