I have been trying to recover from adrenal fatigue for several years and so I've been trying several types of folic/folinic acid and trying to find the right combination for me. I seem to do best with this folinic acid or their Hydroxo B12 combined with folinic acid. If you have not tried a folinic acid yet, its worth a try because some people do better absorbing it than folate. And remember to NEVER use folic acid as it is a synthetic version which is not only poorly absorbed but can also be harmful to a lot of us who are trying to meet our folate needs.

Might need this version if you have MTHFR C677TT double mutation and headaches

I have a MTHFR C677TT double mutation. Before I was taking anything for it, I had ulcer like skin issues on my head and forearms, digestive issues, and depression/anxiety. After I started taking Methylfolate and Methylcobalamin all of those issues went away within a few months and haven't returned in three years.

The Methylfolate and Methylcobalamin were causing headaches though. Niacinamide would relieve the headaches, but it was a balancing game. I started taking the Folinic Acid and Hydroxocobalamin from Seeking Health instead of the Methyl versions and the headaches went away. I have been taking this for almost a year now and am very happy with the results.

A great product. I saw results withi just a few days of using this. I have the MTHFR genetic defect and looking for help with many different effects of this on my health. This may be the answer. I also use the Methyl Folate and high doses of Vit, B12. I have also experienced less anxiety since taking this and hoping for weight loss results as well. Although I have only been taking this for 1 week, the changes I have experienced have given me great hope for even better health and vitality. The only thing I will be changing about this product is going to the lozenges for better absorption.

So far this has been a miracle supplement for my husband! He's only been taking this supplement for a few days and already I can see a significant difference in him. He's severely overmethylated, causing psychosis, paranoia, aggression, and he also experiences auditory hallucinations. He has had negative reactions to many supplements that he's tried, including methylfolate, causing his symptoms to get worse. Since starting this supplement his symptoms have calmed down drastically and he's so much more relaxed and content. This is truly a miracle and we'll definitely be purchasing this supplement from this company again!

It could totally all be in my head, but I bought a bottle of folinic acid where the pill was a hard pill and I felt a bit of a negative difference on the days I did not take it and a positive one on the days I did. This recent purchase came with capsules with powder inside and honestly, I have felt more jittery and nervous when taking these. I am going to buy the hard pills next time.

Heightened anxiety and hunger dysregulation

My primary care doctor recommended 800mcg Folinic Acid when I tested positive for an MTHFR gene mutation. I had wondered if this mutation was linked to my anxiety and panic disorder and hoped this supplement would help. On the contrary. My body is very sensitive to many substances, but the first side effect I noticed was consistent nausea. Then, after about a week of taking this, I started experiencing what I believe was a hunger dysregulation, which really messed with my satiety hormones - making me feel like I was starving but so constantly nauseous that nothing sounded appetizing. When I did eat, I didn’t feel satisfied, just ill. It also heightened my anxiety. I stopped taking it and immediately felt better with a clearer mind, regulated hunger/satiety and much less anxiety.
If course all substances work differently on different bodies, but this one definitely did not work for me.
