The poems in this book were poignant and rich with emotion. They flowed nicely into one another and when I got to the one for with the entire collection is named, it was... Well it was interesting to find the emotions that poem evoked...
Thanks to the style of the poems and the formatting ebooks make based on the size of the device you're using, some of the lines seemed to run into one another, but this is more a note based on personal observation rather than the poetry itself. I really found few faults in the poetry. Poetry is a rather personal thing.
I'm not a huge fan of poetry, and do not understand it most of the time. For some of the poems within this collection, the same was true. Still, I was able to read and enjoy most of the poetry because it was relateable.
Some of my personal favorites where:
Seriously I could go on and on listing more. I've highlighted and noted so many poems and brilliant lines written from Seeking Solace, in my Kindle version it was hard to choose. Enjoy it and soak it in - poetry worth having in your collection. Seriously - I'm a tough bird to give 5 stars and it was worth it!!
Some of my favorites: “War”; “Society”; and the perfection of simplicity of “Teardrop”.
Other works force you to reflect and are powerful representations of the society in which we live - great poems such as 'Marionette' and 'Grand Cosmos'. Similarly there are pieces which show us what we are capable of, like 'Rise'. The poem 'Shine' is a glorious portrayal of the strength and beauty within.
As is evident, the power of this collection lies within the heart of each poem; they are relatable, connecting us through words. Examples of this can be found in 'War' and 'Goodbye' - both blew me away, so powerful they had me in tears.
I highly recommend the collection. It will make a perfect addition to any bookshelf and is handy enough to carry around so it is always on hand!
