First the bad; I preordered this expecting the two Wonderboy games to be in the collection as it is on other console releases of this game. I was pretty disappointed when I put this gamecard in to immediately try a Wonderboy game to discover they are missing. To add to that frustration; Write off all of the sonic games or any fast-paced framerate game as there is too much lag to even play it. You hit the jump button and there's a significant delay until Sonic jumps on the screen. Such a shame. I also noticed that the music sometimes will be intermittent and when it randomly does it, it constantly cuts out. In order to fix this it requires closing the software & restarting it. Usually happens about every other time we play a game. Controls just feel off as you can use the left joystick to mimic a D-pad for movement, I prefer an actual D-pad.. which the Switch neglected to design into their controller, so using 4 buttons for movement just doesn't feel right.
The good; There are still some popular titles to play that work & will take you straight back to the 90's. With refinements that are now taken for granted such as wireless controllers so you don't have to sit close to your console, and the option to save and load at any time, and rewind a few seconds after your character dies so you can retry that section over. It really revitalizes these games to have these features. I can't tell you how many times as a kid that I would enjoy a game only to become discouraged because a certain section was nearly impossible to pass!
I would not have purchased this title for my switch had I known all the cons I listed above prior.
